Eagan Funfest Ambassador Izzy shares latest adventure

Being a funfest Ambassador is so fun! I am going to tell you about an event I worked at. On September 21st 2013, I worked at Holtz Farm for the Lone Oak Days event. I worked at the pony rides first. My job was to put a piece of carrot into a large plastic bin and give it to the kid next in line. The kid then fed the pony and got to ride it on a small oval-like rout. After doing that for a few hours, I had lunch my Eagan Ambassador buddy, Karina. Afterwards, I stood at the entry way and clicked a clicker to keep track of how many people came in. It was cold and chilly so as I held the clicker in my pocket, Katherine came over and helped me hand out maps and other papers. When no-one was coming in, we cracked jokes, sang songs in French (even though we did not know what we were saying), and danced until we noticed someone in the parking lot videotaping us. After we were done saying how we did not notice a camera man in the parking lot, videotaping us for two minutes, we went to help at the pony rides again. The carrot bucket was almost empty. Twenty minutes later, I was reaching into the carrot bucket and I saw a wasp a centimeter away. I yelped and flinched back. “Izzy you knocked over the carrot bucket” Katherine told me giggling. I started to pick up the carrots and making sure the wasp was nowhere near me. One more carrot I thought one more carrot to pick up. AAAHHH! A little boy screamed. “Mommy! A bee is on the grass!” he said. That’s when a teenager that was running the pony rides, took a carrot from the bin and started crushing the wasp. It flapped its wings until it was dead. Then she walked away like she just DIDN’T KILL A RUTHLESS AND EVIL WASP! I started to work again, laughing to myself. I am looking forward to more funny experiences.
