Editor's note: The following is an obituary posted from White Funeral Home.
Abigaile Grace Christenson, beloved daughter of Lucas and Kristina Christenson (maiden name Severson), passed peacefully on Nov. 26, 2012, after entering the world at 23 weeks and 1 day of gestation. She weighed just under a pound when she was born at 12:27 a.m., and she was gathered into the arms of Jesus just before 11 a.m. that same day.
Abigaile is survived by her parents, as well as two siblings, Isabel and Josiah, all at home.
She is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Gary and Shari Christenson of Placida, FL; and maternal grandmothers, Tina Kuhlmann and Lynn Lucas, both of Rochester, MN, maternal great-grandparents, Rick and Gloria Amundrud of Fairdale, ND, and paternal great-grandparents, Darrell and Margaret Polk of Rotunda, FL. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, David Kuhlmann, of Rochester, MN. She is also survived by aunt Jessica Christenson (of Atlanta, GA) uncles Luke Kuhlmann, Andrew Kuhlmann, and aunt Lauren Kuhlmann, as well as uncles Derek Lucas and Austin Lucas (all of Rochester, MN), many great-aunts and uncles, relatives, and many dear friends. Our angel baby Abigaile gave us a lifetime of love during her short time on earth, and our memories with her will be treasured dearly forever.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the wonderful staff of United and Children's Hospitals of St. Paul, MN for their loving care of Abbie during her short time here.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a memorial account that has been opened at Merrill Lynch for Abigaile. A portion of the proceeds will be used for a donation to the March of Dimes (http://www.marchofdimes.com/) whose mission is to work together for stronger, healthier babies, and to decrease the prevalence of premature birth in the future. Their mission is near and dear to our family's heart, as Abigaile was our second infant whose birth was premature.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, at Hosanna! Lutheran Church, 9600 163rd St. West, Lakeville, MN. There will be a 12:30 p.m. Public Visitation, 1:30 p.m. service, and 2:30 p.m. light luncheon.
