To the Editor:

Education is important to a healthy economy and a prosperous future, so it’s important we get the facts straight about who is up to the task of representing our kids at the State Capitol.

Rep. Doug Wardlow voted to borrow $2.4 billion from our schools. As a result, schools in the Burnsville School District saw a $24 million cut and schools in the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan district were cut nearly $67 million!

Then when given the opportunity to pay back our schools in full by closing the tax loopholes that allow corporations to hide money overseas, Wardlow voted no.

Of most concern to me is that Rep. Wardlow is a proud graduate of our school district but instead he’s voted against Eagan schools so other kids won't get the same opportunity that he had.

Well, instead of voting for Wardlow, I’ll be voting for the candidate who will actually prioritize our schools. I’m voting Laurie Halverson and so should you.
