I love John Kline

Or perhaps I should say I love his staff because that’s the only connection John Kline has to the citizens of our district.   If you are not one of John Kline’s wealthy supporters all you really see of him is the media shroud that his staff creates.  Who is the real John Kline?  In the recent press release about my candidacy on PioneerPress.com, Troy Young responds by asking why are two of Mike Obermuller’s volunteers now running against him, obviously hoping to create the impression that there is some of type of dissension in the ranks. The simplicity of that thought process is charming.

Troy has of course identified the principle strength of the DFL.  We recognize that ours is a very diverse district with very diverse interests and needs.  Democrats understand the value of negotiation, cooperation, and comprise.  They recognize open debate as a fundamental requirement of good government.  Finding common ground is not always easy but is ultimately the process that promotes the kind of general prosperity that benefits everyone.  The GOP is more like the Borg in Star Trek, creating chaos in their narrow attempts to assimilate everyone.  This is why a DFL controlled house in Minnesota gets things done and a GOP controlled house ends in a government shutdown or as some described, a government meltdown.  This is why the GOP focuses their energy on creating divisive reforms like last year’s Marriage Amendment. “It’s a family issue”, they said. “Let the people decide”, they said.  Well, the people decided but that doesn't stop the GOP from pushing their divisive agenda.

Of course Troy also steers well clear of the real issue in my candidacy to end the tyranny of wealth over our government in Washington.  His boss is a major contributor to policies that have supported the steady migration of wealth to the super rich.  You can be certain that staff will definitely steer clear of that troublesome issue.  You can also be certain you won’t hear anything about David Gerson who garnered 15% of the Republican vote in the 2012 primary with scarcely a hint of a campaign.   This is what the GOP is saying.

  • John Kline is a Rubber Stamp Politician! Kline always votes with John Boehner and their special interest groups. He does not represent the people of his district.

And of course the Minnesota GOP overwhelmingly supported Rick Santorum over Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential caucus.  Could it be that there is some dissension in the ranks of the GOP as well?  Could it be that the GOP simply does not represent Minnesotans at all?
