Star Tribune's Politics of Prejudice

In a story published by the Star Tribune on Oct 26, Fierce re-election battle forecast for Kline, the Star Tribune discriminates against the DFL minority candidate by suggesting that Paula Overby was not immediately available for comment.  Apparently she did not happen to be in the reporter’s office when they wrote the story because they certainly made no attempt to contact Paula.

Paula Overby of course is challenging a political process that excludes minorities and working class people.  She also opposes the type of biased reporting that supports these exclusionary policies.  It is no surprise then that the Star Tribune is not going to publish her comments.

One might consider it weak reporting rather than false reporting but the Star Tribune also excludes any reference to Paula Overby in their September 17th Hot Dish Politics, Ben Swann's controversial 'truth' event attracts controversy -- and campaigns.  Paula Overby of course is a candidate for the people.   She understands the exclusionary nature of partisan politics and seeks to engage the opinions of all of her constituents.  Freedom Outpost reports on the ommission in a post dated September 23.  The post is not generally favorable to the DFL but illustrates why Paula Overby is challenging the DFL to present our strong value position of representative government and abandon the bipolar political partisanship that has so disenfranchised people from our political process.

Apparently, David Mindeman, Political blogger for the DFL was also unable to reach Paula Overby for comment.
