Blotter: Student Brings Knife, BB Gun to Eagan High School

Eagan officers also responded to several burglary and robbery calls, according to the most recent police reports.

Jan. 15

12:59 p.m.—Police responded to a drug activity incident on the 1300 block of Jurdy Rd.

7:28 p.m.—Police responded to a criminal sexual conduct call on the 4500 block of Hay Lake Rd. The reporting party told police her adult daughter was raped several days ago.

10:35 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call at a hotel on the 3400 block of Washington Dr. A hotel clerk told police a man checking in at the front desk was "acting strangely", talking to himself and swearing. Police tracked down the man, who was very uncooperative and registered a .221 blood alcohol level. The man was transported to detox.

Jan. 16

4:12 p.m.—Police responded to a theft report at a restaurant on the 4600 block of Nicols Rd. The caller told police that $500 in cash had been taken from a purse left at the store earlier. The woman told police she saw a man standing in the area where the purse was left. Police searched the man and the restaurant, but couldn't find the money.

5:52 p.m.—A man traveled to the Eagan Police Department to complain about officers impounding his bird. Police spoke with the man, and noticed the strong odor of alcohol on his breath. The man admitted to police that he had been drinking and driving. The man was cited for a DWI.

8:36 p.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking call on the 1300 block of Lakeside Cir. The woman told police that told people had left her messages stating they were going to shoot and kill her. Both suspects live in Columbia Heights.

Jan. 18

9:34 a.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking call on the 1600 block of Woodgate Ln. A Century Link utility worker told police a male came out of his house and threatened to shoot her. Police engaged in an hours-long stand-off with the man, eventually calling in a tactical team and a negotiator. Police took the man into custody without incident.

1:50 p.m.—Police responded to an assault call on the 900 block of Yankee Doodle Rd. The caller told police his coworker tried to hit him earlier, then ran away. The man may be armed with a knife.

4:05 p.m.—Police responded to an assault call on the 4100 block of Lexington Ave. The caller told police that her son's father punched her in the face several times. The man was jailed on domestic assault charges. The woman was cited for criminal damage to property for breaking several of his lamps.

4:22 p.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking call on the 4500 block of Villa Pkwy. The caller told police a gang of teenagers threatened to shoot him.

8:38 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary on the 3000 block of Eagandale Pl. The caller told police he returned home to find his apartment trashed. The TV was taken off the wall, several items were broken and a hammer was left in the apartment. The caller told officers he believes his niece's ex-boyfriend was responsible.

Jan. 19

12:22 a.m.—Police responded to a silent alarm at a gas station on the 2600 block of Eagan Woods Dr. Police responded to the business, and learned that a group of people with a BB gun had attempted to rob the business. Police searched the area for the suspects, but weren't able to locate them.

1:37 a.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call on the 4000 block of Pennsylvania Ave. The reporting party told officers three people tried to break into the house behind hers. Police responded to the home and cited several minors for curfew and tobacco violations.

3:28 a.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call on the 1300 block of Lakeside Cir. The caller told police that a car appeared to have slid into a neighbor's yard, and that the driver appeared to be passed out.

Jan. 20

6:14 a.m.—Police responded to a fire call on the 1500 block of Aspen Dr. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a townhome fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were unable to rescue one person trapped on the second floor of the building; the man died of smoke inhalation. Other occupants of the complex were evacuated.

4:48 p.m.—Police responded to a shoplifting call at a business on the 1300 block of Town Centre Dr. Authorities were able to recover $265.81 worth of stolen property, but the suspect, a white female, managed to get away.

Jan. 21

6:14 a.m.—Police responded to a car fire on the 3000 block of Eagandale Place. The man inside the vehicle appeared to be in cardiac arrest while the vehicle was on fire. A coroner was eventually called to the scene.

Jan. 22

12:24 p.m.—Police responded to a weapons call at Eagan High School. A student brought a knife and BB gun to school. The weapons were confiscated and the student was charged on weapon and drug-related charges.

2:16 p.m.—Police responded to a robbery call on the 4500 block of Slater Rd. The reporting party told police two men robbed her of her money and wallet outside a nearby apartment complex.

3:15 p.m.—Police responded to a car accident involving injuries at the intersection of Sandstone Dr. and Shale Ln. The caller told police the male driver passed out, went across a road and hit a snowbank.
