Blotter: Caller Tells Police His Grandmother is Being Held Against Her Will

Police also responded to several burglaries at private residences in Eagan, according to the police reports from Aug. 6-12.

6:05 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary at the Chipotle on the 2000 block of Cliff Rd.

8:45 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the Fantastic Sam's on the 2000 block of Cliff Rd.

2 p.m.—Police responded to an assault call on the 3600 block of Denmark Ave. The reporting party declined to press charges.

Aug. 8

7:05 a.m.—Police responded to a damage to property call on the 900 block of Blue Gentian Rd. The reporting party told police someone wrote "maricon" and drew a picture of male genitalia on the side of a vehicle.

Aug. 9

8:20 a.m.—Police responded to a domestic assault call on the 3100 block of Jurdy Ct. S. A female told police her husband punched her in the head. The man was arrested and transported to the Dakota County Jail.

Aug. 10

9:04 a.m.—Police responded to a damage to property call on the 4100 block of Rahn Rd. The victim reported that someone severely scratched the paint on his vehicle and tried to break the windshield. The victim believed the suspects are 3-4 young men whom he honked at because they were standing at the entrance to his appartment complex and wouldn't move for his vehicle.

12:42 p.m.—Police responded to a criminal sexual conduct call on Beatrice St. The reporting party told police their 7-year-old daughter had been the victim of sexual abuse.

5:44 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call in Eagan. The caller told police his grandmother was being held against her will at a home in the area. The caller also told police he believed it was a "cult situation" and that the suspect might be armed. Police arrived at the scene and found that the grandmother had been imprisoned. Police took statements from the victim and filed a report.

8:36 p.m.—Police responded to a shoplifting call at the Kohl's on the 1300 block of Town Centre Drive. The caller told police that two male shoplifters went into one of the store's dressing rooms with 6-7 pairs of pants and 10+ pairs of shirts. Police cited both juveniles with theft and released them at the scene after contacting the parents.

Aug. 11

9:39 a.m.—Police responded to a fraud call at a pharmacy on the 1900 block of Cliff Lake Rd. The reporting party, a pharmacy supervisor, told police that two males with forged prescriptions had visited the pharmacy. Police learned that the same two suspects had recently purchased or attempted to purchase oxycodone all over the metro area. Investigators are reviewing surveillance videos as part of the ongoing investigation.

3:11 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 4400 block of Woodgate Ct. The reporting party told police his daughter was in Europe, and that when he visited her house on Aug. 11 he noticed numerous items out of place but nothing missing. Police found no sign of forced entry.

8:20 p.m.—Police responded to a fight call on the 3200 block of Valley Ridge Dr. The caller told police that as many as 40 people, including juveniles were fighting in a driveway. Another caller witnessing the same fight told police 20-25 people were involved, and that the fight involved a lot of yelling and screaming.

Aug. 12

6:40 p.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking call on the 1300 block of High Site. Dr. The caller told police that he asked another man holding an elevator to let the elevator go. At that point, the victim told police that the male got up into his face and made threats.
