Blotter: Drunken Pair Arrested After Knocking Down Pro-Life Sign in Eagan

In a separate incident, a caller reported that someone spray-painted obscenities and a racial slur on a sign and dumpster at an Eagan dental clinic.

7:07 a.m.—Eagan police responded to a burglary call at the Chipotle on Cliff Road in Eagan. Police believe a burglar entered through an adjacent Fantastic Sams and broke into a safe in the building.

11:18 a.m.—Police responded to a damage to property call on the 1600 block of Lena Ct. A person reported that someone had spray-painted the image of a sexual organ on the back door of a building.

7:46 p.m.—Firefighters responded to a fire call on the 4700 block of Narvik Dr. The caller told emergency responders that the deck of a home was on fire. The fire eventually spread to the siding and attic of the home before firefighters were able to put out the blaze. Investigators determined that a smoldering cigarette butt caused the fire.

Oct. 23

2:15 a.m.—Police responded to a drunkenness call at the intersection of Lone Oak and Pilot Knob Roads. The caller told police one male and one female knocked down a large, wooden "Pro-Life" sign posted in a nearby yard. The two then fled in a vehicle. Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver for a DWI. Both admitted they had been drinking.

8:11 a.m.—Police responded to a check welfare call at Lucky's in Eagan. The caller told officers that a female inside the restaurant was "whacked out" and couldn't stand still. Police transported the woman to Fairview Riverside and cited her for drug and drug paraphernalia possession.

10:15 a.m.—Police responded to a damage to property call at a dental office on the 4100 block of Knob Dr. in Eagan. The caller told police that someone spray-painted obscenities and a racial slur on the business sign and a nearby garbage dumpster.

2:54 p.m.—Police responded to a theft call at the Kohl's Department Store in Eagan. The caller told police three women were in the store grabbing items and putting them in bags. The reporting party watched as the women went into a fitting room and left the rooms with "bulging" purses. They then exited the store.

Oct. 24

8:02 a.m.—Police responded to a personal injury accident at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Lone Oak Road in Eagan. At least two vehicles were involved in the crash, and one person was transported to Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville.

11:52 a.m.—Police responded to a trespassing call on the 2000 block of Flint Lane in Eagan. The reporting party, a homeowner, told officers that a neighbor who had at one time performed work on her house was repeatedly trespassing on the property. Police learned that the caller was suing the neighbor for his poor renovation work.

5:43 p.m.—Police responded to an alcohol compliance issue at Granite City restaurant in Eagan. During a routine alcohol compliance check, the restaurant served a 20-year-old. A citation was mailed to the business.
