Blotter: Drunken Vikings Fan Arrested, Burglar Leaves Blood and Shoeprints at Scene

Dec. 30

12:53 a.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call at the intersection of Erin Drive and Nicols Road.

12:00 p.m.—Police responded to a car accident involving at least one injury at the intersection of Deerwood Drive and Pilot Knob Road. Three vehicles were involved in the accident.

12:31 p.m.—Police responded to a damage to property call on the 4700 block of Covington Ct. The caller told police a house was egged overnight.

5:05 p.m.—Police responded to a disturbing the peace call on the 1900 block of Silver Bell Rd. The caller told police a group of at least four people were arguing and physically fighting. The caller saw one of the males strike a female in the group. Police transported at least one person to jail in connection to the incident.

Dec. 31

1:52 a.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call on the 1800 block of Silver Bell Road. The caller told police she was hiding in her apartment because three people had broken into her home. The caller, who had mental health issues, told police they were in her apartment to steal her personal documents. Before police could arrive, the caller told dispatch that the intruders had left. The caller was transported to a local hospital on a psychological hold.

3:20 a.m.—Police responded to the SuperAmerica on Cliff Road. The caller, an employee, told police that two drunken, older men were inside the store and refused to leave. One man was in his 40s, and the other was in his 70s. Police picked up both men. One was released to his wife, and one was brought to detox. One of the men exclaimed "Go Vikings!" to the arresting officers.

Jan. 1

7:13 a.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call on the 4700 block of Covington Ct. The caller told police he just arrived home to find a strange car parked in his yard. The vehicle was towed.

2:59 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 800 block of Wescott Square. The caller returned home after a week away and found the door wide open.

9 p.m.—Police responded to a medical call on the 1000 block of Ticonderoga Trl. The caller told police a 19-year-old male was having an alcohol- and marijuana-induced panic attack. The victim was having difficulty breathing. The man was transported to Regions Hospital. The victim and another person were cited for possession of marijuana.

11:56 p.m.—Police responded to a death call on the 4500 block of Slater Road. The caller told police a 36-year-old man was unconscious and not breathing following a fight at the residence. Police responded to the home and found that all parties at the residence were very intoxicated. Emergency responders attempted to resuscitate the victim, but were unable to revive him. Police are treating the death as a homicide. .

Jan. 2

7:29 a.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking call on the 3400 block of Yankee Dr. The caller told police another man had issued a verbal threat to her adult son, who had recently moved to Colorado with the suspect's sister. The suspect, identified as having mental health issues, allegedly told the son that if he didn't bring the suspect's sister back to Minnesota, he would kill his mother. Police spoke to the suspect, who denied issuing the threats.

11:48 a.m.—Police responded to a theft call on the 1900 block of Seneca Rd. The caller told police that someone had stolen two catalytic converters and four rotors within the last two days from the address.

1:26 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 700 block of Hanover Ct. The reporting party told police she visited the home, which is in foreclosure, and found the door kicked in.

9:20 p.m.—Police responded to a trespassing call at Extended StayAmerica in Eagan. The caller, an employee, told officers they would like to have police escort two guests at the hotel out of their room. Officers found drugs in the guests' room the previous night. Although the guests had been asked to leave several times by hotel employees they were still in the room.

11:12 p.m.—Police responded to an assault report. The male victim and a witness arrived at the Eagan Police Department and told officers the male had been assaulted by several suspects, who were all marines.

Jan. 3

3:09 a.m.—Police responded to a domestic call on the 4200 block of Sun Cliff Rd. The caller told police he had been attacked by his roommate. Police arrived at the scene, and transported two men to Regions Hospital with injuries from a fistfight.

Jan. 4

7:08 a.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking call at the Midwest Coca-Cola on the 2700 block of Eagandale Blvd. The caller told police he was threatened by a Coca-Cola employee.

9:11 p.m.—Police responded to a medical call on the 2000 block of Jade Ln. The caller told police a 51-year-old male with a violent and combative history had overdosed on pills. Police transported the man to a local hospital.

Jan. 5

4:17 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 4000 block of Johnny Cake Ridge Ct. The caller told police he'd been watching the neighbor's house since December, and visited the home that day to find out the home had been broken into and trashed. Police evaluated the home and discovered that a TV, electronics and jewelry were taken, and blood stains were left near the window. Officers also found shoeprints in the snow outside.

9:01 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call at the Applebee's on Town Centre Drive in Eagan. The caller, an employee, told police a table of customers smelled strongly of marijuana, and that the table had repeatedly gone out to their car and come back into the business. Police spoke to the six suspects and cited at least one of them for underage consumption.

11:58 p.m.—Police responded to a drunkenness call at the Wendy's on Nicols Road in Eagan. At least one female was transported to the jail pending charges of fourth-degree assault, terroristic threats and obstruction of justice.
