Blotter: Eagan Police Rescue Dog Hanging from Broken Second-Story Window

In a separate incident, police responded to reported drug activity at Eagan High School, according to the most recent Eagan police reports.

8:17 a.m.—Police responded to an animal call on the 3200 block of Dodd Ln. The caller told police that a dog was hanging out the second story window of a townhome, and that the window and screen were broken. Police got the dog back inside and closed the window, then left a citation for the absent owner for keeping an unlicensed animal.

12:13 p.m.—Police responded to a theft call on the 4300 block of Sandstone Dr. The caller told police that someone took several political signs from their yard, and that this was the fifth time signs had been stolen.

4:08 p.m.—Police responded to a drug activity call at the Eagan High School.

Oct. 17

12:54 a.m.—Police responded to a domestic call on the 3200 block of Valley Ridge Dr. The caller told police that their 17-year-old son and 24-year-old son had gotten into a fight involving a steak knife, and that their 20-year-old son had been cut trying to break it up. Police began a search for the knife-wielding 17-year-old, who disappeared from the residence following the fight. The injured son was transported to Regions Hospital.

1:08 p.m.—Police responded to a drug-related call on the 1300 block of Marice Dr. The caller told police her husband, who has a history of drug abuse, took some prescription oxycodone from her. The husband, who took the phone from his wife, claimed that wasn't true, and that she loses track of the medicine and is sometimes confused.

5:16 p.m.—police responded to a lost property call at Ring Mountain Creamery in Eagan. The caller told police that a backpack containing drug paraphernalia had been left in the cafe. The backpack contained two pens, a mechanical pencil, a lighter and a pipe.

9:26 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious activity call at Metro Dental in Eagan. Arriving at the scene, the officer discovered two Eagan runaways and an Apple Valley juvenile in a maintenance room near the dental offices. The officer found a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and burglary tools in their possession. All three were released to their parents pending criminal charges.

Oct. 18

12:04 a.m.—Police responded to a damage to property call at 77th Street W. and Rolling Hills Drive. The caller told police an acquaintance threw a rock at his car. The acquaintance admitted that he threw the rock, and claimed he was upset because the caller couldn't find $10 that belonged to the acquaintance. 

12:30 a.m.—Police responded to a theft report on the 3300 block of Coachman Rd. The caller told police her 18-year-old son took her car without her permission. The 18-year-old is homeless, according to police reports.

Oct. 19

8:11 a.m.—Police responded to a theft call at Paradise Car Wash in Eagan. The carwash owner told police he believed that someone was selling stolen carwash packages on Craigslist. He set up an email account to attempt to purchase some of the passes and identify the seller.

9:30 a.m.—Police responded to a disturbing the peace call at the BP gas station at 1424 Yankee Doodle Road. The caller told police that an employee had caught a customer attempting to steal gas during a gas drive-off, and that the two were now arguing. Police arrived at the scene and cited an adult male for the theft.

Oct. 20

1:24 a.m.—Police responded to an assault at Cooper's Restaurant in Eagan. Police learned that two women got into a fight at the fight, and that one of the women had a cut on her nose.

2:16 a.m.—Police responded to a fight call at the Holiday Inn Express in Eagan. The reporting party, a security officer at the hotel, told police there was a fight involving 7-8 people on the third floor, and that the group had been drinking. Two were cited by police and released.

6:37 a.m.—Police responded to a theft call on the 4300 block of Cinnamon Ridge Trl. The caller told police her daughter, son and daughter's boyfriend spent the night, and that during the stay, her daughter stole a $4,000 ring. The daughter denied taking the item.

Oct. 21

2:05 a.m.—Police responded to a criminal sexual conduct call on the 1300 block of High Site Dr. The caller told police his or her roommate was raped by someone who lives in their apartment building, and that the rape occurred about 10 minutes before the call.

6:21 a.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking call on the 3500 block of Birchpond Rd. At the request of the reporting party, officers had visited the residence earlier that night and asked a man to turn his loud music. Once police left, the man came out on his deck and yelled profanities toward the victim's home. The reporting party told police he felt threatened.

9:54 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 4600 block of Lista Pt. The caller told police someone broke into an unattached garage and stole a $700 bike.

5:59 p.m.—Police responded to a disturbing the peace call at the Genghis Grill in Eagan. The caller told police a customer and an employee got in a dispute over a coupon. The customer allegedly grabbed the employee, swore at her, then left.

7:23 p.m.—Police responded to a drunkenness call on the 3100 block of Alden Pond. A caller told police that his intoxicated ex-wife arrived 10 minutes ago and was "ranting and raving" and had gotten undressed in front of his children. Before police arrived, the woman left the residence and began running down a cul-de-sac outside of the home. Because the husband was known to be "very anti-law enforcement", police dispatched two officers to handle the call.
