Blotter: Intoxicated Man Caught Urinating in Street, Digging Through Trash

Eagan police also responded to a car accident involving a child on a bicycle, according to the most police reports.

Jan. 6

7:10 a.m.—Police responded to a theft call at a department store on the 1300 block of Town Centre Dr. The caller told police two people walked out of the store with shoplifted TVs.

8:32 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary report on the 4000 block of States Ave. The caller told police that items had been taken from three cars overnight. The caller acknowledged that he or she left the garage door open.

9:47 a.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking call at a child care facility on the 3500 block of Federal Drive. The caller told police that a local college student had threatened her and swore at her over the phone. The student claimed that a child at her care center had damaged his car.

10:25 a.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking call on the 4900 block of Slater Road. The caller told police her estranged husband was threatening to commit suicide, and had also threatened to kill her attorney. The couple was going through divorce proceedings.

12:53 p.m.—Police responded to a theft call at a department store on the 1300 block of Town Centre Dr. Officers took two shoplifters into custody during the incident.

1:28 p.m.—Police responded to a personal injury accident at the intersection of Blackhawk Road and Deer Hills Trail. The caller told police a car had struck a child riding a bicycle. The child was transported to Regions Hospital with injuries.

3:39 p.m.—Police responded to a medical call on the 1000 block of Kettle Creek Rd. The caller told police a female had intentionally overdosed on unidentified pills. The woman, who ingested 35 pills, was transported to United Hospital.

6:53 p.m.—Police responded to a damage to property call on the 4200 block of Rahn Rd. The caller told police someone put a hose in her basement and now the basement was flooded.

Jan. 8

2:51 p.m.—Police responded to a mental health crisis incident. The reporting party, a female, visited the Eagan Police Department to report that she sees dead animals along the road all the time, and that she believes a past co-worker is stalking her. Police contacted mental health authorities and requested the woman be evaluated.

3:40 p.m.—Police responded to a theft call at a business on the 1900 block of Shawnee Rd. The reporting party told police someone stole $500 worth of scrap metal from a dumpster over the weekend.

Jan. 9

2:16 p.m.—Police responded to a theft call at a department store on the 1300 block of Town Centre Dr. The caller told police two shoplifters just fled from the business in a black car. Loss prevention officers chased both of them out into the parking lot but were unable to get a complete license plate number for the vehicle.

2:36 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call on the 2000 block of Safari Heights Trl. The caller told police a possibly intoxicated man who seemed "out of it" had parked his SUV in front of their driveway, urinated in the street and began digging in a trash can. When the caller went out to speak to the man, he began talking about the Batman movie. Police transported the man to a nearby facility for medical care.
