Blotter: Man Arrested After Fondling Himself in Children's Section of Eagan Store

In a separate incident, police responded to an alleged dog-napping that occurred in the front yard of an Eagan home.

Police arrested a man found fondling himself in the children's section of a store in the Eagan Promenade.

Officers visited the store on May 31 after receiving a complaint from a caller, who told police a male spent a great amount of time in the store's children's department, and had been seen making gestures and touching himself. The caller told police that when others in the store confronted the man, he simply moved to a different part of the store.

Police located the man in the store. An officer witnessed the man's genitalia hanging out of a hole in his sweatpants, and saw the man fondling himself. The man was taken to jail.

May 22

7:25 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 600 block of Brockton Curve. The caller told police her purse was missing from her home. She believed someone stole it from her house last night, and gained entry through a garage door left open.

1:56 p.m.—Police responded to a theft call on the 3600 block of Windtree Dr. The caller told police that someone stole a nylon briefcase from a vehicle parked in her garage. The briefcase was recovered in Inver Grove Heights.

3:07 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 500 block of White Pine Way. The front door of a home was smashsed open, and there were footprints in the home.

3:33 p.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking call at a business on the 1200 block of Town Centre Dr. The caller told police that a suspect threatened to come into the store with a gun. The threats were directed toward a person that no longer works at the store.

May 24

6:31 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 1500 block of Pinetree Trl. The caller reported that a garage and car were broken into overnight, and $2,000 in miscellaneous items were taken.

4:32 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call on the 1900 block of Sapphire Pt. The caller, a man, told police that at 10 a.m. he noticed a woman looking into his kitchen as he was getting something out of the refrigerator. The man was naked at the time.

5:42 p.m.—Police responded to a disturbance at a grocery store on the 1200 block of Promenade Place. The female caller told police another woman had keyed her car in the parking following an altercation in the store. In return, the caller had keyed the suspect's car. Police arrived at the scene, and learned that both women had been kicked out of the grocery store for arguing loudly. One woman was cited for fourth-degree criminal damage to property and another woman was cited for disorderly conduct.

6:23 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call on the 3300 block of Coachman Rd. The caller, an employee at a convenience store, told police he had been approached by three people who told him they planned to rob the store. Click here to read more about this incident.

May 24

9:07 a.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call at a business on the 3100 block of Dodd Rd. The caller told police that a briefcase had been left at the business, and when the caller opened it up, she found a gun inside.

4:48 a.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call at a business on the 1200 block of Northwood Pkwy. The caller to police a male was taking pictures of females in a dressing room of the business.

11:03 p.m.—Police responded to a disturbing the peace call on the 3800 block of Ballantrae Rd. The caller told police that his neighbors were fighting, and that he could hear screaming and pounding on the walls. Police arrived at the scene and spoke with the neighbors, a mother and son were arguing over the son's college grades. Both denied that the argument was physical.

May 25

4:58 a.m.—Police responded to a theft call on the 2000 block of Coral Ln. The caller told police that someone stole her dog out of the front yard. The caller was informed about the theft by a neighbor, who witnessed a young woman with two kids driving a green sedan stop and take the dog, a black and white Pomerenian. The woman's husband and son left to look for the suspects.

May 26

7:40 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call at a hotel on the 3000 block of Holiday Ln. The caller, a hotel employee, told police they found a vehicle in the parking lot with an uncased rifle in the back seat. The caller believed the owner of the vehicle, a guest at the hotel, had been intoxicated all weekend. Police spoke with the man, who said he was depressed because of a recent divorce. Officers transported the man to a local hospital.

May 27

9:24 a.m.—Police responded to a damage to property call on the 900 block of Trillium Ct. The caller told police a rock was thrown through a window, and that someone left dog feces in a bag on the front step.

4:53 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 1500 block of Blackhawk Lake. The caller told police he just returned home to find the front door kicked in.

9:53 p.m.—Police responded to a criminal sexual conduct call on the 3200 block of Hill Ridge Dr. The caller told police his or her 12-year-old daughter was assaulted by a 16-year-old male.

May 28

3:53 p.m.—Police responded to an assault call on the 1600 block of Snowflake Dr. The caller told police he was mowing the lawn and someone threw a rock at him and hit him in the head, causing bleeding. Police also learned the man was knocked out for a short time.

May 29

1:04 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 4300 block of Medary Ave. The caller told police she came home to find the lock on the door broken. Police cleared the house and found nobody in the home.

7:22 p.m.—Police responded to a drunkenness call at a bar on the 3100 block of Dodd Rd. The caller told police a drunk man was attempting to get into his car and drive home, and that a group of onlookers were trying to stop him from leaving. The man knocked one of the onlookers down during an argument. Police arrived and took the man to detox.

May 30

12:43 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary alarm at a business on the 1800 block of Diffley Rd. Police found evidence that someone had attempted to force open the front door when the alarm triggered. Officers search the area, but found nothing.

10:09 a.m.—Police responded to an assault call on the 3100 block of Lexington Ave. The caller told police that a man had choked and assaulted him in the parking lot outside the business. Police spoke with the assailant, who told officers the victim nearly hit him when speeding into the parking lot that morning.

3:34 p.m.—Police responded to an assault call at a business on the 2700 block of Eagandale Blvd. The caller, a business owner, told police that a rival competitor had become upset that the victim was stealing his business and confronted the victim. During the confrontation, the victim told police his competitor choked and threatened him.

May 31

7:26 a.m.—Police responded to a car crash involving at least one injury at Duckwood Dr. and Pilot Knob Rd. Officers learned a vehicle had rear-ended another car at the intersection. The second car sustained major damage, and the driver received a minor injury.

8:33 a.m.—Police responded to a drug activity call at a restaurant on the 2000 block of Cliff Rd. The caller told police the occupants of a car outside the restaurant appeared to be smoking marijuana. Police arrived at the scene, and arrested one man for illegal possession of a handgun, possession of a stolen gun and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.

2:24 p.m.—Police responded to a criminal sexual conduct call on the 4200 block of Thomas Lake Rd.
