Blotter: Crying Child Calls Police After Witnessing Father Punch Mother

Eagan police also responded to two car accidents involving injuries on Pilot Knob Road.

12:17 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 4200 block of Wexford Way. The caller told police that they had been out of town and that the house was on the market, but that they weren't expecting any showings. Police learned that jewelry and other items were taken from the scene.

2:15 p.m.—Police responded to a harassing communications call on the 1500 block of McCarthy Rd. The caller, a woman, told police her ex had been hacking into her email and Facebook accounts and sending nude pictures of her out onto the Internet.

Aug. 28

9:27 a.m.—Police responded to a weapons call on the 4400 block of Robert Trl. S. The caller told police he was hit in the head by a BB while driving, and that he believed the shot came from two boys near a church along the road.

2:08 p.m.—Police responded to a personal injury accident at the intersection of Pilot Knob Road and Sigfrid St. E. Police learned that two vehicles had collided on the road, causing injuries to both drivers and knocking down a street light. Two were transported to the hospital and one was cited by police.

Aug. 29

11:31 a.m.—Police responded to a personal injury accident near the intersection of Norwest Court and Pilot Knob Road in Eagan. A caller reported that one vehicle had flipped over, and that no one was getting out of the car. One person was transported to Regions Hospital, while another was cited by police.

7 p.m.—Police responded to an assault complaint on the 3800 block of Pilot Knob Road.

7:20 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call on the 1800 block of Gold Trl. A caller told police he caught a man who claimed he was a scrap collector rummaging through the caller's garage. The man, who eventually left in a beat-up old Dodge van, asked the victim if he could take several items out of the garage before offering the caller a business card. The caller told police the man smelled of alcohol.

7:44 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 4800 block of Dodd Rd. The caller told police that jewelry and a game system were taken from his home, and that a pawn shop in Bloomington called him to inform him someone was trying to sell the stolen items.

Aug. 30

10:53 p.m.—Police responded to an assault call on the 4500 block of Villa Dr. The caller told police that six juveniles were punching another female, and that all of the people involved live in the same apartment complex. The victim declined to press charges.

11:57 p.m.—Police responded to a theft report at Ansari's Mediterranean Grill in Eagan. The caller reported that a man came into the restaurant, walked up to a table, grabbed a customer's food and said "Mine". He then left the building on foot. Police caught up to the suspect, and $30 worth of food and beer were recovered.

Aug. 31

12:21 p.m.—Police responded to a domestic call on the 4200 block of Sequoia Drive. The caller, a crying child, told police that "dad was hitting mom". The caller was forced to hang up the phone when the father approached. Police, arriving at the apartment, found that the man had punched his wife in the face, head and legs while children were present. The man was arrested for fifth-degree domestic assault.
