Blotter: Man Discovers Suspected Drug Stash in Eagan Park

Police also responded to a robbery call and several assaults, according to the Eagan police reports for July 26-31.

July 26

6:44 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary call at a retail business on the 3400 block of Federal Dr. in Eagan. Officers found that the front door window had been broken in with a rock and that suspects tried to open the cash register but were unable to take money from the register.

3:04 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call on the 680 block of Hillside Dr. The caller told police that an unknown source was sending her 12-year-old daughter inappropriate text messages.

5:15 p.m.—Police responded to a fraud call at a business on the 1500 block of Cliff Rd. The business told police that a man gave them a fake $20 bill approximately 20 minutes before the business called police. The store had the man on security videos.

10:06 p.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking call on the 3700 block of Grey Dove Ln. The reporting party told police that a 23-year-old male had threatened to kill his 18-year-old son and his girlfriend with a hatchet.

July 27

5:47 p.m.—Police responded to a robbery call on the 1200 block of Redwood Pt. The victim, who visited the Eagan Police Department to make the report, told police that three males broke into a home with a gun, stole money and left.

10:43 p.m.—Police responded to an assault call on the 4500 block of Villa Dr. The reporting party told police he was punched in the nose by another driver during an argument sparked by 'road rage'. The reporting party stated that he and the other man cut each other off several times—with the other driver starting it. The victim then said he followed the other drive to a residence, where the confrontation started and the other man punched him.

July 28

12:50 p.m.—Police responded to an assault call on the 3800 block of Vermillion Ct. S. The reporting party told police he had been punched in the jaw by a female suspect while both were at a home with two children.

12:54 p.m.—Police responded to a lost property call in Evergreen Park in Eagan. A man out geocaching told police that he stumbled upon what he believed to be a drug stash in the park. No drug testing kits were available for use at the time, so the officers destroyed the unknown substance, which was wrapped in hockey tape and a TV guide.

July 29

12:43 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call at a business on the 1900 block of Rahncliff Ct. The caller told police that the business staff found a male trying to break into cars in the back parking lot. One of the staff members chased the male off before he was able to break into any vehicles. During that confrontation, the staff member also took a photo of the suspect on his cell phone.

5:47 p.m.—Police responded to a person injury car accident at the intersection of Lexington Ave. and Lone Oak Rd. At least one person sustained leg injuries in the crash, and two cars were towed.

July 31

11:12 p.m.—Police responded to a juvenile complaint at the 1100 block of Town Centre Dr. The caller, a parent, told police that a 15-year-old and 17-year-old were missing, and that both of them had made "pillow people" in their beds to deceive their parents. The teens returend home 20 minutes later, and said they went to a friend's house in Inver Grove Heights to get a cell phone. Both were cited for curfew violations.
