Blotter: Man Hospitalized After Getting Arms Trapped in Machine Rollers

Eagan police also responded to several burglary calls and domestic assault incidents, according to the police reports from June 11-17.

June 11

9:27 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary report at a business on the 2000 block of Cliff Road. An officer found damage to and fresh pry marks on the front door of the business—as well as fresh pry marks on the door of a neighboring business. The shop owner requested extra patrols in the area.

2:48 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 4000 block of Old Sibley Hwy. The caller reported a theft from a storage unit.

6:05 p.m.—Police responded to a domestic assault call on the 1100 block of Northwood Drive. The reporting party, a mother, called to tell police that her daughter had just been beat up by her own husband. Police responded to the residence, where they learned the husband allegedly kicked the victim and pinned her down to the ground. Police transported the man to Dakota County Jail.

June 13

8:20 p.m.—Police responded to a domestic assault incident on the 900 block of Wescott Trail. The reporting party—a 17-year-old—told police his father had assaulted him. The father was jailed on fifth-degree assault charges.

June 14

1:02 p.m.—Police responded to a theft report at a business on the 1300 block of Town Centre Drive. The reporting party told police a shoplifter had left the store with over $200 in stolen merchandise. The license plates of the suspects vehicle had been removed, but the reporting party identified the vehicle as an easily-recognizable, gold-colored SUV. Police caught up with vehicle, and arrested two occupants. They also impounded a small dog found in the vehicle.

June 15

1:11 a.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person report at a business on the 1300 block of Town Centre Drive. A homeless person living out of his car was cited by police for parking in a handicapped stall in the parking lot. The driver of the vehicle allegedly told police that he sometimes stays in a storage unit in Eagan.

2:23 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary alarm at a business on the 3000 block of Courthouse Lane. Police found evidence of forced entry, and discovered that $100 in cash was taken from the register, as well as three bottles of whiskey together worth more than $400.

10:17 a.m.—Police responded to a juvenile complaint on the 500 block of Hackmore Drive. The caller, a mother, reported that an abusive minor was out of control, and had been running around with a knife at one point before a parent took the knife and put it away. Police took the 15-year-old to a juvenile detention center and charged him with second degree assault with a weapon.

8:48 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary incident on the 4000 block of Camberwell Drive. The reporting party told police items had been taken from his or her garage. Neighbors reported seeing a suspicious man wrapped in a sheet in the area of the garage.

June 16

6:23 a.m.—Police responded to a medical call at a business on the 1200 block of Trapp Road. A 25-year-old man had his arms pinned in the rollers of a machine. THe man, who was conscious and breathing, was transported to Regions Hospital.

June 17

9:31 p.m.—Police responded to a drug activity call on the 1000 block of Duckwood Drive. The reporting party told police that several kids were smoking marijuana in the sauna portion of a pool/workout room complex.
