Blotter: Naked, Intoxicated Man Tries to Break into Eagan Home

Police also responded to several assault calls and two fire-related incidents, according to the police reports for June 18-23.

June 18

8:33 a.m.—Police responded to a report of an assault on the 1100 block of Town Centre Drive. The reporting party told polive her ex-boyfriend assaulted her. Police arrested and jailed the man for domestic assault.

1:23 p.m.—Police responded to a damage to property call on the 4200 block of Dunrovin Lane. A homeowner told police that full pop cans, eggs and paint balls have been thrown or shot at her house every Saturday night or Sunday morning for three consecutive weekends.

5:54 p.m.—Police/fire units responded to a fire call on the 1800 block of Gold Trail. The reporting party told police that a shed at the back of a house was on fire. When emergency responders arrived, the shed was fully engulfed and power lines above the shed were catching fire.

June 19

1:50 p.m.—Police responded to an animal call on the 3400 block of O'Leary Lane. The reporting party told officers a dog had been in a parked car for 10 minutes on an 89-degree day. Police found the dog panting and cowering in the vehicle and removed the dog until the owner could be located. The temperature inside the car was 98 degrees. The owner was cited by police for the incident.

3:26 p.m.—Police responded to a domestic call on the 4100 block of Rahn Rd. The 20-year-old reporting party told police his father had choked him. The son told police that he would be waiting for the officers at the entrance of a parking lot, but as police were on their way, the father allegedly used a car to chase the victim down the block. Police jailed the man for domestic assault.

4:34 p.m.—Police/fire units responded to a fire call on the 800 block of Lone Oak Rd. A business reported that a dumpster was on fire. Emergency responders ruled the incident was not arson.

6:12 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 4400 block of Slater Rd. The reporting party arrived home to find the garage door of the house wide open. Liquor, laptop computers, jewelry and a TV were taken.

June 20

12:50 a.m.—Police responded to a theft report at a restaurant on the 1300 block of Town Centre Drive. An employee told police a customer purchased a beer for $3.29, then left without paying when the employee went to the bathroom. The employee gave police the license plate number and officers pursued the suspect until he stopped at the intersection of Lexington and Town Centre Drive. The suspect's blood alcohol level registered .293, according to a PBT administered by police. The man was jailed.

June 21

7:51 a.m.—Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on the 2100 block of Cliffview Drive. The reporting party told police someone took a 1996 beige Toyota Camry from a driveway overnight. The spare keys were inside the vehicle.

11:12 p.m.—Police responded to an assault call on the 2200 block of Cliff Road. The reporting party told officers she had been hit in the face several times by her boyfriend.

June 22

4:10 p.m.—Police responded to a child protection call on the 1600 block of Walnut Lane. The reporting party told police that his teenage daughter had been given prescription pain medications by her stepfather.

June 23

12:38 a.m.—Police responded to a medical call on the 3400 block of Washington Drive. Emergency responders learned that a 36-year-old male sitting in his vehicle was was unconscious and not breathing. Paramedics attempted resuscitation on the victim, but stopped when they were unable to revive the victim. The victim was attending an NHL fantasy playoff party, and had complained of chest pains during the party. The victim left the building, and a reporting party later found him in his vehicle.

3:30 a.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call on the 4100 block of Countryside Drive. A homeowner told police that someone was trying to get into a home through the back patio door. Police arrived and found an intoxicated man outside the home. The man's clothing, including his underwear, was scattered throughout the front yard of the residence. The man, who had a blood-alcohol level of .175, thought he was in Apple Valley and told officers he had no idea how he got to Eagan. He was transported to detox.

6:15 p.m.—Police responded to a criminal sexual conduct call on the 1600 block of Diffley Road. A caller told police a client at a group home had been raped while at work at a grocery store. Police are investigating the incident.
