Blotter: Police Arrest Man Found Slapping Himself Outside Coffee Shop

Eagan officers also responded to several burglary and assault calls, according to the police reports for May 21-23.

May 21

6:19 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 1800 block of Gold Trl. The caller told police a garage had been burglarized overnight, although nothing seemed to be missing. Police believe the suspect or suspects may have gained entry through an unlocked back door.

12:58 p.m.—Police responded to a criminal sexual conduct incident on the 4500 block of Oak Chase Cir.

6:21 p.m.—Police responded to a fraud complaint on the 3000 block of Eagandale Pl. The reporting party told police he lost his Samsung tablet on a flight and later received a phone call from a person who found it and wanted a $400 reward.

8:47 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person incident on the 2200 block of Rocky Rapids Way. The reporting party told police he or she was receiving pornographic emails from an unknown person using a cell phone.

11:08 p.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking call on the 900 block of Coneflower Ct. The reporting party told police she sold a phone on Craigslist and that the buyer of the phone had been calling people on her call list. When the woman called the buyer, he threatened her. Police spoke with the buyer, and advised him not to contact the seller.

 May 22

2:33 p.m.—Police responded to check welfare call on the 3400 block of Pilot Knob Rd. The caller told police a man was sitting on the ground outside a coffee shop slapping himself. Police confirmed the man had an outstanding warrant for fifth-degree drug possession and detained him.

7:13 p.m.—Police responded to an animal care at the corner of Pin Oak Dr. and Vienna Ln. The caller told police a pit bull had been running at large in the area.

8:18 p.m.—Police responded to an assault call at a business located on the 4600 block of Beacon Hill Rd. The reporting party told police his foster parents were harassing him, had grabbed his arm and slapped him on the rear.

10:22 p.m.—Police responded to threats/stalking incident on the 2900 block of Pilot Knob Rd. The reporting party told police that her 20-year-old daughter threatened to stab her stepfather. Police detained the daughter when she arrived at the victim's house.

May 23

1:09 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary call at a jewelry store on the 3000 block of Courthouse Ln. Police found the back door of the store damaged, and cleared the building with a K9 unit. No one was found inside.

6:46 a.m.—Eagan officers were notified by Orlando police and a U.S. Marshall task force that a man with an outstanding warrant for felony battery by strangulation was staying at an Eagan hotel on the 4600 block of Rahncliff Rd. Police apprehended the suspect and will extradite him to Florida.

6:05 p.m.—Police and fire units responded to a fire call on the 600 block of Overhill Rd. The caller told police there was a very large recreational bonfire left unattended in the neighborhood, and that the fire was spreading. Noting windy conditions, fire units responded to the area, were unable to find a homeowner or anyone attending the fire and extinguished the blaze. One piece of lawn furniture was destroyed in the fire.

6:10 p.m.—Police responded to a medical call on the 4100 block of Durham Ct. The caller, a 39-year-old female, told police she could feel an "eel" crawling through her body and claimed it was "devil spawn" or a disease from her ex-boyfriend.

7:03 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary on the 4000 block of Halite Ln. The caller told police someone broke into his house and left the home in disarray. Police discovered forced entry had been made through a back window.
