Blotter: Super America at Cliff Becomes the Scene of Violence Again

Tensions from a fatal shooting earlier this week boiled over again during a subsequent incident at the Cliff Road Super America.

Twice this week, the Super America on the corner of Cliff Road and Slater has been the scene of a violent conflict. On Aug. 13, two shooting victims drove to the store in Eagan after fleeing from the original crime scene in Burnsville. One was pronounced dead when police arrived.

The store became the site of conflict again  on Aug. 17. Around 3:11 p.m. a fist fight was reported at the store. When medics arrived, the victim was breathing but unconscious and the suspect had fled the scene. The incident centered around a fatal shooting from earlier in the week. The victim apparently believed that the suspect in the fight was involved in the shooting somehow, and was heard to say that "his friend died in his arms." When the man regained consciousness he too fled the scene, leaving his car in the parking lot, still running.
