Blotter: Three Eagan Businesses Report Burglary Attempts

A jewelry store and two other businesses were targeted, according to the Eagan police reports for April 18-24.

 April 18

10:09 a.m.—A woman living on the 3200 block of Valley Ridge Dr. met with police at the police department and told an officer that her husband threatened to kill her and the rest of the family with knives. Police took the husband, who was at home at the time, into custody.

11:15 a.m.—Police responded to a damage to property call at the corner of Dodd Rd. and Opperman Dr. The reporting party told police she was driving when she heard a very loud bang and something shattered her sunroof and damaged the top of her vehicle. The woman, who was northbound on Hwy. 149 at the time, didn't know what sort of object hit the vehicle, but thought it may have fallen from a plane.

11:04 p.m.—Police met with a resident of the 1100 block of Duckwood Trl. The woman told police she was at a friends house when the friend began assaulting her and refused to let her leave the apartment. No weapons were used, but the woman did have a cut on her wrist.

April 19

4:03 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary alarm at a jewelry store on the 1900 block of Cliff Lake Rd. Police found pry marks on the front door and one pane of glass broken on the entry door. Three male suspects wearing ski masks attempted to break in but were unable to gain entry, according to security footage reviewed by police. 

8:31 a.m.—Police responded to a theft report on the 3400 block of Golfview Dr. The reporting party told police that two suspects stole a snowblower valued at $1,600 from an underground garage. The woman told police the theft may be connected to some fellow residents of the condo development.

9:14 a.m.—Police responded to reports of a break-in at a business on the 2100 block of Cliff Rd.

9:32 a.m.—Police responded to a burglary call at a business on the 2100 block of Cliff Rd.

April 20

8:17 p.m.—Police responded to a report of an assault on the 2200 block of Diffley Rd. A mother told police her daughter had been assaulted at school earlier that day. When the reporting party tried to talk to the parents of the other children involved, the suspect's mother became uncooperative and loud.

April 21

11:33 a.m.—Police responded to a report of a theft on the 1000 block of Walnut Ridge Dr. The reporting party told police he had 60-70 people over for a party at his parents' house while his parents were away. At some point, the caller told police that one of the guests stole an iPad.

April 22

8:09 a.m.—Police responded to reports of an accident at the intersection of Ashbury Rd. and Blue Cross Rd. A motorist hit and knocked over a fire hydrant the night before, but left the license plate from his vehicle's front fender at the scene. Police visited the man's home. He did not answer the door, but police photographed damage on the front fender of the man's truck and found beer in the backseat of the vehicle.

11:40 a.m.—Police responded to a report of a domestic assault on the 1600 block of River Bluff Ct. The reporting party told police a male suspect grabbed her by the neck, choked her, threw her down by her neck and punched her on the face, lips and teeth. The victim told police the suspect committed the assault in front of her kids. Police arrested a man on fifth-degree domestic assault charges.

April 24

5:17 a.m.—Police responded to a theft call on the 3300 block of Coachman Rd. The reporting party told police a setero, two subwoofers and an amp were stolen out of her vehicle sometime overnight.
