Blotter: Three Men Jump Woman Out Walking Her Dog

Police also responded to several suspicious person incidents and a burglary call, according to the police reports for May 24-27.

May 24

11:08 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 1500 block of Deerwood Bend.

12:49 a.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person incident on the corner of Blackhawk Road and Diffley Road. The reporting party told police she was out walking her dog when three men in their 20s got out of a vehicle and charged at her, yelling "Get her". At least one man chased the woman for a short distance before her dog scared him off.

2:19 a.m.—Police conducted a traffic stop on an intoxicated driver at the corner of Duckwood Drive and Widgeon Way. Police had difficulty using a breathalyzer because the man was repeatedly vomiting. Instead, police had to conduct a blood test. The man's blood-alcohol level was .258, and he was arrested for a third-degree DWI.

7:07 a.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person incident on the corner of Diffley Road and Heine Strasse Road. The caller reported a female who appeared disoriented took some of her clothes off and then proceeded to walk down Diffley wearing a bra and carrying a stick. Police transported the woman to Regions Hospital.

3:13 p.m.—Police responded to a threats/stalking incident at a business on the 1100 block of Trapp Road. The caller told police that he or she sent an employee home with pay due to an incident. The employer then found out that  the same employee had made threats three weeks ago to shoot people in the building if he didn't get a vacation soon.

May 26

10:05 p.m.—Police responded to a check welfare call at a liquor store on the 1900 block of Cliff Lake Road. A store employee noticed a man passed out in his parked car. The employee knew the man had been there all day, and had purchased alcohol at the store at least twice that day. Police breathalyzed the man, and got a .301 reading on a "weak sample". They also found a half empty bottle of vodka behind teh passenger seat.

May 27

9:25 p.m.—Police responded to a call on the 1600 block of Boardwalk. The caller, a conservative political journalist/blogger with a radio station, told police a radical political group targeting journalists. The group, he said, will call local police stations with fake reports of violent incidents at journalists' homes, trying to solicit a large police response. While he hasn't received any direct threats, but is concerned about the trend.
