Blotter: Bottle Bomb Detonated on Rolling Hills Drive

Police responded to several fight, burglary and suspicious persons calls, according to the most recent edition of the police reports.

May 10

2:47 a.m.—Police responded to a report of a fight involving a gun on the 1900 block of Rahncliff Ct. A caller told police a man engaged in a fight earlier had returned with a pistol. Before police could arrive the suspect left the scene. Police conducted a search around Rahncliff Ct.

7:47 p.m.—Police responded to a report of a traffic accident involving a motorcyle at the intersection of Diffley and Pilot Knob Roads. Minor damage was sustained to both vehicles, and no one was seriously injured. Police cited one for careless driving.

11:18 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious persons call at a restaurant on the 4500 block of Erin Lane. An officer cited one person for possession of marijuana and another was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

May 11

2:20 a.m.—Police responded to a drunkenness call on the 1000 block of Kettle Creek Road. A caller told police two intoxicated juvenile males were in the street. One male was stumbling, while the other was trying to help him. Eventually, one of the juveniles laid down in the grass. Police cited two for underage drinking and sent one to detox.

10:29 a.m.—Poilce responded to a littering call on the 900 block of Lone Oak Road. The reporting party told police approximately 100 tires were dumped in a parking lot overnight. The owner was paying to have them removed.

9:58 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 4300 block of Cinnamon Ridge Trail. The caller, who was in Minneapolis at the time of the incident, told police a neighbor called her to tell her two people were trying to break into her home with crowbars. Police brought a K9 unit to the home and cleared the house without finding the suspects. Officers did find evidence of an attempted forced entry.

May 12

1:03 p.m.—Police responded to a report of a loud explosion on the 3300 block of Rolling Hills Drive. The reporting party told police he or she heard a loud explosion last night and that morning found a plastic bottle that looks like an exploded homemade bomb. Nothing was damaged in the explosion. Police had no suspects at the time of the report, and the reporting party asked for an extra squad car patrol.

3:08 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary report on the 1700 block of Bluestone Drive. The caller told police someone broke into her house and stole her dog and a box of comic books. She suspected it may have been an ex-boyfriend, and told police she was concerned he would return.

11:56 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious persons call on the 4300 block of Woodgate Lane N. The caller told police a silver Jeep was parked outside and that the occupants, who appeared intoxicated, were getting out and urinating in the neighbors' yards. The caller told police all of the people were stumbling, and that one female fell when she was urinating in a yard. Police cited several teenagers for minor consumption and possession of alcohol by a minor and released them to their parents.

May 13

5:09 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person report on Shale Lane. The reporting party told police a man in a vehicle approached the reporting party's son and asked the boy if he wanted to play. The boy ran to a neighbor's house. The driver was described as rouhgly 35-years-old with a green hat.

7:25 p.m.—Police responded to a report of a fight in the parking lot of Eagan High School. The reporting party told police a male who was foaming at the mouth kept running up to students and trying to start a fight. Police cited one for underage consumption and transported the male to a hospital.

11:44 p.m.—Police responded to a fire on the 1400 block of Kingswood Road. The reporting party told emergency responders there was a fire in a garbage can at the end of the driveway. Emergency responders extinguished the fire. The reporting party told police they had stained a deck earlier that door, and guessed that the stain products caught fire in the can.
