Eagan Blotter: Hotel Hookup Ends in Alleged Robbery

Each week, Eagan Patch publishes a selection of the most recent police reports.

A 30-year-old man told police he met a woman at a local bar, then brought her back to his hotel roomonly to be robbed in an apparent setup.

Police responded to a robbery call at 3:02 p.m. on April 15 at a hotel on the 1900 block of Rahncliff Ct. The caller told police his or her stepson had been threatened and robbed in a setup that began at a nearby bar. The victim told police he met a woman at the bar the previous evening and took her back to a hotel room.

That evening, an unknown man knocked on the door, then proceeded to rob the victim, according to the report. The woman then left with the intruder, the victim told police.

April 8

9:05 a.m.—Police responded to a domestic call at a restaurant on the 3800 block of Hwy. 13. The caller told police her father assaulted her in the parking lot of the restaurant the previous night. Although the man allegedly attempted to backhand the victim in the face, she did not report any injuries.

April 9

12:24 p.m.—Police responded to a theft call at Metcalf Junior High School.

1:25 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call at a restaurant on the 2000 block of Cliff Rd. The caller told police that a man tried getting into her car while she was at a drive-thru ordering window. The man told the woman he was on the phone with the police, and was upset because he felt she had cut him off while driving on the interstate earlier.

April 10

6:28 p.m.—Police responded to a disturbing the peace call at a hotel on the 3000 block of Eagandale Pl. The caller told police that the hotel was attempting to evict some guests, but that the customers were swearing and getting unruly. Police responded and executed a search warrant. During the search, they covered a number of methamphetamine pipes and other paraphernalia.

7:24 p.m.—Police responded to a lost property call on the 4100 block of Country View Dr. The caller told police that he or she had left an iPad on the roof of a vehicle, then lost the iPad when the caller began driving and the item fell off the roof.

April 11

9:53 a.m.—Police responded to a disorderly conduct call at Metcalf Junior High School

1:11 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary on the 4600 block of Manor Dr. The caller told police that someone had attemtped to break into a home sometime that morning. The victim found damage to a door, but it appeared the intruders were unable to enter.

2:16 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 1000 block of McKee St. A TV and a .40-caliber handgun were stolen.

April 12

6:26 p.m.—Police responded to a domestic on the 900 block of Wescott Trl. The caller told police two women were fighting and screaming at each other. A male party was attempting to break up the fight. Police responded to the scene, and advised the two female parties to stay separated.

7:42 p.m.—Police responded to a driving complaint at the intersection of Cliff Rd. and Parkcliff Dr. The caller told police that a vehicle was traveling the wrong way on Cliff before it ran a stop sign and a red light. Police tracked down the vehicle and discovered the driver in possession of a pound of marijuana. He was cited for careless driving, possession of a controlled substance and a semaphore violation.

10:31 p.m.—Police responded to a theft call on the 3200 block of Terminal Dr. The caller told police that someone had attempted to steal a truck and a half-loaded trailer from a business in the area. Police found tracks leading away from the scene and followed them. Eventually, police found a man dressed in winter gear leaving the area. The man told officers he was coming back from a trip to the grocery store in Burnsville. He was cited for driving without a driver's license or proof of insurance.

April 13

Police responded to a two-car accident involving at least one injury at the intersection of Cliff Rd. and Slater Rd. The caller told police that her daughter hit her head, but was conscious. Police cited one driver for failing to yield and driving without proof of insurance.

11:06 a.m.—Police responded to a domestic on the 600 block of Sally Cir. The caller, a 73-year-old man, told police his 36-year-old son had beat him up. The 73-year-old fled to a neighbor's home to call 911. He warned police there were handguns in the home, and that the son may try to "fight it out" with police. Officers arrived at the scene and arrested the younger man on suspicion of fifth-degree assault.

11:58 a.m.—Police responded to a disturbing the peace call on the 1700 block of Meadowlark Ct. The caller told police two men had threatened her husband. The incident began when the husband allegedly received a text message saying he owned someone money and that they were waiting for payment at a house a block away. The message was signed with a gang name. When the husband drove up to the house, the men attempted to jump the husband, but then fled.

10:02 p.m.—Police responded to an assault report on the 4100 block of Rahn Rd. The caller told police her ex-boyfriend kicked her car and hit her in the face, then threatened to shoot her.

April 14

12:17 p.m.—Police responded to a disturbing the peace call at the 3300 block of River Bluff Dr. The caller complained of loud music at an adjacent home. Police visited the home, and spoke with the resident. The resident invited police in to prove that they could still have a normal conversation with the music turned up to its previous level. The police officer disagreed, and cited the resident.

5:25 p.m.—Police responded to a damage to property call at a business on the 1300 block of Town Centre Dr. The caller, a homeless man living in his vehicle, told police that a young man was throwing rocks at his car, and broke the back window of the vehicle. The homeless man told police he had been living in his car for three years. The officer got some cardboard and tape for the victim to patch up the window. The victim told police he would stay at his sister's house that night.

9:49 p.m.—Police responded to a criminal sexual conduct call on the 4400 block of Johnny Cake Ridge Rd. The caller told police his or her teenage daughter was raped the previous night in Eagan.

April 15

8 a.m.—Police responded to a car crash involving at least one injury at the intersection of Cliff Dr. and Nicols Rd.

4:01 p.m.—Police responded to a car crash involving at least one injury at the intersection of O'Leary Lane and Yankee Doodle Road. one driver was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
