Eagan Crash Victim Identified

The St. Paul man died after a crash that caused his vehicle to land upside down in a collection pond in Eagan.

The victim of the crash in Eagan on Friday, Oct. 25 was identified as Thomas Heinz Iwen, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Iwen, 58, of St. Paul was driving on Clubview Drive toward Lexington Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle, the Dakota County Sheriff's Office reported. His vehicle landed upside down in a collection pond at the intersection.

The Eagan Fire Department extricated him from the vehicle and Iwen was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He died at the hospital.

According to the Pioneer Press, the Ramsey County medical examiner's office is investigating.
