Aug. 29

-A caller in the 800 block of Cliff Road reported that someone broke into a car and stole a bag containing a journal and a tube of ChapStick.

-A resident in the 4100 block of Braddock Trail reported that his ex-wife was refusing to allow him to see his daughter on court-ordered visitation days. He said he went to the YMCA to pick her up to take her to the state fair, and his ex-wife drove away with the child.

-A caller in the 1400 block of Central Parkway reported that someone painted a large smiley face on the roof of the Central Park pavilion.

-An employee of Bed Bath and Beyond in the 1200 block of Promenade Place reported that a customer was pulling items from shelves, then returning them for cash, saying they had been gifts. The employee said three items that the suspect successfully returned were confirmed via video surveillance as missing from store shelves. Police cited a 32-year-old woman for theft.

-A caller in the 1300 block of Corporate Center Drive reported that someone stole a catalytic converter from a van in a parking lot.

-A resident in the 1400 block of Clemson Court told police that the neighbor’s dog came into their house and killed their cat.

-An employee at a store in the 3300 block of Coachman Road told police that the store had a juvenile shoplifting suspect in custody.

-Police responded to a hotel in the 3300 block of Norwest Court to serve a warrant on a fugitive. When the male suspect tried to flee on foot, police used a taser to subdue him; he fell, and his face hit a door and the ground. Police also arrested a 23-year-old woman for aiding an offender on probation.

-Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Lexington Avenue and Wescott Road and cited one driver for inattentive driving.

-A caller in the 900 block of Ticonderoga Trail told police that pornographic pictures were being sent to his daughter’s cell phone, and he suspected his daughter’s ex-boyfriend.

-Police stopped a driver at Blackhawk Road and Cliff Road and cited a 29-year-old man for driving with a revoked license and possession of marijuana.

-The Holiday station in the 3000 block of Holiday Lane reported a $73.18 gasoline drive-off. The reported license plate didn’t match the car’s description.

-A resident in the 1300 block of Dresden Court reported that someone stole a purse from a car and got away with two sets of car keys.

-Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Lexington Avenue and Lone Oak Road. One driver was cited for running a red light and the other for driving with a suspended license and failing to transfer a vehicle title within 10 days of sale.

-Police stopped a car in the 1300 block of Town Centre Drive and cited a 19-year-old woman for DWI and having an open bottle of alcohol in a car.

Aug. 30

-Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 4400 block of Clover Lane. A man reported that his 14-year-old stepson was out of control, had hit him and was knocking things over. The boy was arrested for domestic assault and taken to juvenile detention.

-Police stopped a car at Highway 13 and Yankee Doodle Road after the driver bounced off a curb and hit a light pole. A 42-year-old man was cited for DWI, hit and run, driving without a license and driving with a revoked license.
