Eagan Police Blotter: Aug. 7-9

A roundup of selected Eagan Police Department calls and arrests.

Aug. 7

-A caller in the 1100 block of Town Centre Drive reported that his wife was drunk and “going crazy.” The caller said he had taken away her keys, and she left on foot. Police arrested the 25-year-old woman for domestic assault.

-Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 4000 block of Meadowlark Court. One of the couple’s children reported that her mother and stepfather were fighting. The couple told police that they were having a “heated argument over marital problems,” but both denied that it had been physical. The woman’s 17-year-old daughter was present at the time. Police sent a copy of the report to child protection.

-A caller in the 1900 block of Diffley Road reported that someone put 30 traffic cones in the driveway, back yard and on the back deck. There were no witnesses and no suspects.

-Police questioned a suspicious person riding a bicycle without lights at Pilot Knob Road and Yankee Doodle Road. The man initially gave police the name of his roommate. He was cited for giving false information to police and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

-A caller in the 4000 block of Meadowlark Lane reported a domestic disturbance in the street. Police detained a 22-year-old man.

-A caller in the 1700 block of Meadowlark Court reported a loud party. The police had been to the location earlier; the caller said the party quieted down for a bit, then started up again. Police cited a 22-year-old man for violating the loud party ordinance, and warned him that further complaints might result in his arrest.

-A caller in the 3500 block of Lexington Avenue reported a domestic disturbance. Police arrested a 19-year-old man for domestic assault and underage drinking.

-A caller in the 1900 block of Rahncliff Court reported a domestic disturbance at a hotel. Police found that both the man and woman had been drinking, and took the 32-year-old man to detox.

-A caller in the 2000 block of Silver Bell Road reported a domestic disturbance between a couple and a friend who had been staying with them since arriving from Kenya. The couple told the police they wanted their friend to move out because he hadn’t signed the lease, wasn’t paying any bills and was “argumentative” in front of the couple’s child. Police advised the couple that they couldn’t help and that they should help him find another place to stay.

-A caller asked police to check on a vulnerable adult in the 1800 block of Trailway Drive. Police transported a 54-year-old woman to the hospital.

-A caller in the 4700 block of Stratford Lane reported a mail theft. Some of the mail was found ripped up a mile away in Rosemount; a Rosemount woman found one piece of mail with the victim’s Social Security number on it.

-A caller in the 1700 block of Meadowlark Court reported that a remote-control car valued at $470 and a $600 bicycle were stolen from his garage overnight. The caller identified a possible suspect and police said they would follow up on the case.

-A caller in the 1700 block of Four Oaks Road reported that he had evicted some renters and there were items missing from the empty apartment. The former renters were questioned and said they hadn’t come back to the apartment, but they believed they knew who had taken the items.

-A caller in the 1500 block of Central Parkway reported that several men in an SUV pulled up beside her parked car, broke a window and stole her purse.

-A caller in the 3800 block of Pilot Knob Road reported that he had been working in the area of Wescott Square when he heard what sounded like a child being hit multiple times. He told police he didn’t know from what building or apartment the noise was coming.

-A caller in the 1800 block of Covington Lane reported that someone toilet-papered his house overnight, and someone had climbed on top of one of the family cars and defecated on it.

-A caller in the 4600 block of Rahncliff Road said her parents had received a suicidal text message from her sister, who she said she suspected of being addicted to Valium. She said her sister had told her she was contemplating suicide and told her family that they would be better off without her. A 36-year-old woman was taken to the hospital.

-A caller in the 1900 block of Emerald Lane reported a bicyclist acting strangely. The caller told police it looked like the biker might be “on something.” Police transported a 37-year-old man to detox.

-The Holiday station in the 1500 block of Cliff Road reported a $27.97 gasoline drive-off.

Aug. 8

-Police stopped a car in the 4100 block of Braddock Trail and cited a 17-year-old boy and three 19-year-old men for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The juvenile was turned over to his parents.

-Police stopped a car at Highway 110 and Interstate 35E and cited the driver, a 22-year-old man, for speeding, driving without insurance and an equipment violation.

-Police served a warrant on a 38-year-old woman in the 1300 block of Jurdy Road. The woman was wanted in Wright County on a drug charge.

-A caller in the 4200 block of Sequoia Drive reported that someone took items from her garage, including $200 worth of tools and a $200 chain saw. She told police that the garage door had been left open.

-A caller in the 1800 block of Karis Way reported that someone stole a laptop from her unlocked car overnight.

-A caller in the 4500 block of Cinnamon Ridge Trail reported that someone stole items from his home. He told police he suspected his 19-year-old son.

-A caller in the 3400 block of Surrey Heights Drive reported that someone stole two packages delivered by UPS from outside her front door. She said the items in the packages were valued at $56.

-A caller in the 1400 block of Highview Avenue reported that his 15-year-old son was threatening him and his wife. Police spoke to the man and his son and filed a report on the incident.

-Police responded to a two-car accident in the 1300 block of Wescott Road. One driver was cited for driving without a license and without insurance.

-A caller in the 1500 block of Woodview Avenue West said the father of her child was trying to take the boy. She said the father had been gone for two years, and she has had physical custody of the child during that time, even though the father had an order granting custody to him. The child’s father told police that the mother’s home isn’t safe because her water had been shut off; the woman said she has access to her mother’s nearby home, which has utilities. Police advised them to contact child protection.

-A caller in the 3500 block of Lexington Avenue reported receiving threatening text messages from an ex-boyfriend. The man also was posting things on Facebook about the victim. Police gave the victim information about protection orders.

-A caller in the 2100 block of Cedar Pass said her 20-year-old daughter was throwing things at her. She said her daughter’s 8-month-old baby was also in the home. The caller said her daughter had moved out of the house, but came back; she said she didn’t want her there anymore. The daughter took her personal items and left.

-The Holiday station in the 1000 block of Diffley Road reported a $40.62 gasoline drive-off. Police contacted the driver, who said he would return to the store and pay for the gas.

-The Holiday station in the 1000 block of Diffley Road reported a $25 gasoline drive-off.

-A caller in the 3800 block of Ballantrae Road reported that her mother had a protection order against her father, but that he had been calling and leaving threatening voice mails, saying he was going to kill both of them. The 50-year-old man was charged with domestic assault and violating a protection order.

Aug. 9

-Police responded to a 911 hang-up in the 4200 block of Pilot Knob Road. A woman in the home told police that her boyfriend was annoying her by asking her to perform a sex act on him and was pulling her hair. She said the disagreement turned into a pushing match, but there were no injuries.
