October 8

A caller at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in the 4000 block of Pilot Knob Road reported that a man was leaving satanic symbols and messages on church property. He provided a description of the suspect and his vehicle.

A caller in the 4200 block of Valley Forge Place reported that a man wearing a mask had grabbed his daughter by the neck; he said his daughter screamed and scratched the man’s neck, and the suspect fled. Police set up a perimeter and searched for the suspect but didn’t locate him.

A caller in the 4100 block of Oakbrooke Trail reported that her ex-husband was harassing her and her family. She told police he frequently violated their custody agreement and was “constantly bothering her” about the children, and she wanted information on getting a restraining order against him.

Police stopped a vehicle at Johnny Cake Ridge Road and cited the driver for driving with a canceled license and inattentive driving.

Police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 1900 block of Silver Bell Road in which a Hyundai rear-ended a Ford Explorer. The Explorer driver complained of neck pain, but refused medical treatment.

A caller in the 700 block of Windmill Court reported that the caller’s 26-year-old son was drunk and was behaving in a belligerent manner in the yard. Police responded and transported the man to detox.

The Holiday station in the 2600 block of Eagan Woods Drive reported a $40 gasoline drive-off.

A caller in the 4100 block of Braddock Trail reported that someone knocked over a mailbox, which was found lying in the road. The caller provided a description of a vehicle that might have struck the mailbox.

October 9

Police stopped a vehicle at Rich Valley Boulevard and Robert Trail South and cited the driver for violating an instructional permit.

A caller in the 3200 block of Coachman Road reported a domestic incident in which a man had been drinking, took his daughter’s phone away from her and broke it. The caller said she was on the way from Rochester to pick up her daughter, but wanted police to make sure she was all right. The woman’s parents arrived and helped her leave for the night.

A caller in the 3800 block of Lexington Avenue South reported an unoccupied vehicle in the parking lot of All Saints Lutheran Church, with a marijuana pipe in the center console. When the owner returned, he was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police responded to a in the 4600 block of Nicols Road. The fire caused extensive damage to the restaurant.

A caller in the 4200 block of Fox Ridge Road reported that someone had apparently hit a mailbox with a baseball bat overnight. A resident in the area told police that she heard what sounded like a loud muffler and a bang sometime before midnight.

A caller in the 3200 block of Hill Ridge Drive reported that someone broke a rear window on a vehicle. Nothing was missing from the car.

A caller in the 3900 block of Valley View Drive South reported that she was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend. The woman said the man knocks on her door, drunk, in the early hours of the morning, and that he has been verbally abusive in the past. She told police she was pregnant with the man’s child and plans to seek a restraining order against him.

A caller in the 4700 block of Weston Hills Drive reported that someone took a GPS unit from a car overnight.

A caller in the 1300 block of High Site Drive reported that someone vandalized a storage cube with spray paint overnight. The suspect sprayed the name “Ray” on the cube and left behind the spray can, which contained a black fingerprint. The fingerprint was sent to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. “Nice job, buddy,” the report said of the fingerprint.

A caller in the 1100 block of Town Centre Drive reported that someone stole a GPS unit and a stereo from a vehicle.

A caller in the 4400 block of Cinnamon Ridge Circle reported that her boyfriend was “very intoxicated” and was driving in the area. Police took the man to detox.

The Holiday station in the 3000 block of Holiday Lane reported a $61.99 gasoline drive-off. The license plate number didn’t match the vehicle description.

October 10

Police stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of Town Centre Drive and cited the driver for driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance.

An employee of Holiday in the 1000 block of Diffley Road reported drunken juveniles “stumbling” around the parking lot, then coming into the store and yelling and swearing at customers. One adult male was taken to detox; a juvenile was driven home.

A caller at Interstate 494 and Pilot Knob Road asked police to transport him to the hospital because he was suicidal. Police complied.

A caller in the 3000 block of Eagandale Place reported two suspicious men peering into cars in an apartment complex parking lot. Police brought a K-9 officer to the scene to track the men, and found stolen property abandoned nearby, but were unable to locate the suspects.

A caller in the 1300 block of High Site Drive reported that someone smashed windows on three vehicles and stole items from all three. Surveillance video showed two men in a white Jeep and their license number.

A caller in the 800 block of Ivy Lane reported that her daughter’s husband was pounding on the doors of her daughter’s home. The caller said the two were in the process of splitting up.

Police responded to a truck-bicycle accident at Lexington Avenue and Town Centre Drive. Witnesses said the driver of the truck pulled out in front of the bicyclist, who was taken to a hospital with a head injury.

A caller in the 3200 block of Highway 13 reported that someone was dumping sports equipment on business property. The caller provided video showing a license plate of the suspect vehicle.

A caller in the 800 block of Wild Rose Court reported that someone took a purse from a car parked in an attached garage.

A caller in the 1200 block of Lone Oak Road reported that two men had gotten into an argument over a parking spot, and one punched the other in the face. The victim told police that the suspect said, “Nice parking job” to him, and he replied, “Thank you.” The suspect then asked, “How would you like to get punched in the face?”, and proceeded to punch him and break his dental plate, the victim said. He provided the suspect’s license number to police.

A caller in the 1300 block of Quarry Lane reported that someone scratched the side of a truck overnight.

Police responded to a vehicle-pedestrian accident at Coachman Road and Yankee Doodle Road. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital.


A caller in the 3300 block of Rolling Hills Drive reported that her neighbor was poisoning her dog with d-CON. An animal control officer was directed to follow up on the report.

A caller in the 1800 block of Trailway Drive reported that her 29-year-old son was arguing with her and had threatened to punch her in the face; she asked police to remove him from the premises. Police responded, and the two agreed to stop fighting.

Police stopped a vehicle at Dodd Road and Opperman Drive and cited the driver for driving with a canceled license.

A caller in the 2000 block of Silver Bell Road reported overhearing a man and woman arguing, with the woman telling the man to stop hitting her. Police arrested a man for domestic assault and took two people to detox.

October 11

Police responded to a medical call at the Holiday Inn Express in the 1900 block of Rahncliff Court. The caller reported that the patient was a 60-year-old man, who was unconscious and not breathing. Police determined that the man had died and sent a message to police in Illinois to notify his relatives.

October 12

A caller in the 2000 block of Carnelian Lane reported a dispute between a man and woman, with the man yelling and trying to wrestle a phone away from her. The woman was given a ride to a shelter.

A caller in the 2000 block of Silver Bell Road reported overhearing a domestic disturbance, with someone yelling, “Get off me!” A woman admitted pushing her disabled husband out of his wheelchair after the two argued about a cell phone.

A caller in the 1700 block of Meadowlark Court reported that someone broke into a vehicle and took an MP3 cord.

A caller at Diffley Road and Interstate 35E reported a car weaving in traffic, then stopping at a green light and not moving. Police found the driver passed out behind the wheel. He was given a urine test and released to a sober party.

The Holiday station in the 4500 block of Nicols Road reported a $32.08 gasoline drive-off.  Police traced the license number to a residence in Woodbury.

A caller in the 4400 block of Cinnamon Ridge Circle reported that her son was receiving threatening text messages that someone named “Red” wanted to “bust a cap” in her son. Detectives were assigned to investigate the bullying.

October 13

Police responded to a car fire at Cedarvale Lanes in the 3800 block of Cedar Grove Parkway. When they arrived, they found the car – parked close to the building behind the restaurant – fully engulfed. The building was evacuated and the car was towed away after the blaze was extinguished.

The Holiday station in the 3600 block of Pilot Knob Road reported a $40.01 gasoline drive-off. Police traced the license plate number but were unable to identify a suspect.
