Eagan Police Blotter: Sept. 10-12

Sept. 10

-An employee at Walmart in the 1300 block of Town Centre Drive reported a 14-year-old male shoplifter in custody. Police cited the boy for theft and released him to his home.

-A caller in the 4300 block of Metcalf Drive reported that his wife was “really intoxicated,” had passed out in the back yard and was sleeping there. He told police that she had a history of alcohol problems and might have drunk a bottle of vodka. Police transported a 40-year-old woman to detox.

-A caller in the 3500 block of Federal Drive reported that his roommate had come home “intoxicated and belligerent” and was starting to get violent. He said the man goes to culinary school and might have a chef’s knife in his room. Police transported a 25-year-old man to detox.

-A caller in the 1500 block of Thomas Lake Pointe Drive reported that her 26-year-old son had been pushing her into furniture, and that he had outstanding arrest warrants. Police set up a perimeter around the home, apprehended the man and arrested him on the warrants.

-An employee of Dakota Hills Middle School reported that he had information about an outstanding arrest warrant for an Eagan woman charged with malicious punishment of a child. The woman was subsequently arrested.

-Police stopped a vehicle at Lexington Avenue and Lone Oak Road and arrested a 53-year-old man on outstanding arrest warrants.

Sept. 11

-A caller in the 1500 block of Central Parkway reported a fight between two men who had just attended a wedding party in the Eagan Community Center. Police arrested a 25-year-old man on outstanding arrest warrants.

-The Holiday station in the 4500 block of Nicols Road reported a $100 gasoline drive-off. Police traced the vehicle plates to a residence in Burnsville and notified police there.

-Lone Oak Market in the 1200 block of Lone Oak Road reported a $50 gasoline drive-off. Employees described the suspect as a blond woman, but didn’t provide a license plate number.

-The Holiday station in the 3000 block of Holiday Lane reported a gasoline drive-off, telling police that it didn’t appear intentional because the man entered the store and paid for something else. Police traced the vehicle plates to a residence in Richfield.

-A caller in the 4100 block of Rahn Road reported that her boyfriend had hit her and that he was still on the premises. Witnesses told police that there was a verbal argument between the two, but “nothing physical took place.”

-A caller in the 3200 block of Donald Avenue reported a “shoving match” between a father and son. There were no injuries, and police made no arrests.

-A caller in the 1000 block of Gemini Road reported that a laptop and monitor, a television and a DVD player were stolen from his truck.

-A caller in the 4100 block of Old Sibley Memorial Highway reported that someone stole a dorm refrigerator containing beer and an ax were stolen from a patio.

-A caller in the 1700 block of Meadowlark Road reported that she was assaulted by an acquaintance the day before and wanted to file a report.

-A caller in the 4100 block of Braddock Trail told police that his father was “tripping” and that he didn’t know what was going on. Police tracked down the caller, and arrested a 54-year-old man on an outstanding warrant and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

-A caller in the 1500 block of Cliff Road reported that a woman opened her car door and hit his vehicle, denting it. He said she was yelling and was “belligerent.” Police tracked down the 25-year-old woman and took her to detox; the driver of the car she was in, a 23-year-old man, was arrested for DUI.

-A caller in the 900 block of Wescott Trail told police that a 9-year-old neighbor asked his 5-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old boy to have sex. The caller said the boy pushed the children’s faces together to get them to kiss, and had the boy lie on top of the girl. Police reported the incident to social services.

-Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Cliff Road and Johnny Cake Ridge Road. One driver was cited for failure to yield when making a left turn.

Sept. 12

-A caller reported that his 15-year-old son was throwing a “temper tantrum” because he didn’t want to go to school and because he didn’t like the kind of water his mother had offered him. The boy tried to attack his mother and take away her phone, the caller told police. The boy eventually calmed down and his mother took him to school.

-A caller in the 4800 block of Robert Trail South reported that someone spray-painted graffiti on a semi-truck.

-A caller in the 1500 block of Thomas Center Drive reported that someone spray-painted graffiti on the back of Prime Security Bank.

-The Holiday station in the 1600 block of Diffley Road reported a $99.74 gasoline drive-off. The license plate number didn’t match the vehicle’s description.

-An employee of Twin Cities Moving Systems in the 2700 block of Highway 55 reported that someone stole two televisions from the back of a delivery truck, which had been unlocked for a day and a half.

-An employee of Gift Garden & Home in the 1000 block of Diffley Road reported that someone pried open the front door of the business and took the cash drawer.

-A caller in the 3300 block of Lexington Avenue reported the whereabouts of a woman wanted on a bench warrant. Police collected $2,425 in bail money from a 15-year-old woman.

-A caller in the 2000 block of Emerald Lane reported a suspicious person rummaging through recycling bins. Police stopped the suspects’ car and warned them to stop.

-An employee of City and County Credit Union in the 1400 block of Yankee Doodle Road reported that someone kicked over a small brick wall along the driveway.

-Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Denmark Avenue and Town Centre drive and cited one of the motorists for inattentive driving.

-A caller in the 3800 block of Ballantrae Road reported that she had been fighting with her husband for two weeks, and that he had said “if he was someone else, he would kill her.” Police gave the woman information on safe houses.

-A caller in the 4600 block of Nicols Road reported seeing a man and a woman put some purses on the hood of a car, going through them and then throwing items away in a nearby dumpster. Police notified other police departments to watch for the suspects’ car.

-A caller in the 4200 block of Sun Cliff Road reported that her mother threw a ceramic flowerpot at her during a “heated argument.” The caller said she had returned to her home in Savage.

-A caller in the 3900 block of Cedar Grove Parkway reported that someone had backed into his car and left contact information on his windshield. Police contacted the person who left the note and asked for his insurance information.
