Eagan Police Search For Man After Chase, Crash

Just after midnight early Thursday morning, a police chase ended with a crash and disappearance of the driver.

Eagan police are looking for a man who disappeared after a two-mile vehicle chase and crash in Mendota Heights.

At 12:16 a.m. Thursday, officers stopped a man at Highway 55 and I-494 to check a driver's license violation, according to a statement from Eagan police. But as police approached his car, he drove away.

The vehicle chase reached speeds of more than 100 miles an hour, and lasted about two miles. It ended at Highways 55 and 13 in Mendota Heights, where the driver crashed. When police got to the car, the suspect was gone, according to the statement.

Eagan police and other supporting agencies conducted a search of the area, but they're still looking for the driver. If anyone has information on the incident, witnesses or others can call Eagan police at 651-675-5700.
