Eagan Police to Promote Good Chicken-Keeping Next Tuesday

Last fall, the Eagan City Council gave the OK to residents wanting to keep chickens in their backyards.

To head off any potential chicken abuse, the Eagan Police Department is planning a free workshop to teach the basics of chicken-keeping to suburbanites, according to KSTP.

Each house can keep up to five chickens, but they must get a permit and the birds must be housed in a coop and provided with a chicken run.

The workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m. on July 16 at the Eagan Fire Safety Center. Reservations are required. For reservations or questions, contact Animal Control Officer Karen Grimm at 651-675-5750 or at kgrimm@cityofeagan.com.
