Kohl's Cashier Charged with Stealing Over $1,400

The 30-year-old Inver Grove Heights woman was arrested in Eagan.

An Inver Grove Heights woman was charged with stealing merchandise from Kohl’s in Eagan.

Adriana Gonzalez de Hernandez (also known as Adriana Gonzalez), 30, is charged with felony theft in relation to the case, which occurred as she worked for Kohl’s as a cashier.

If convicted, she faces up to five years in jail and a $10,000 fine.

According to the complaint, Gonzalez handled four transactions in a row on Dec. 21. During those transactions she voided some items and gave unauthorized 30 percent discounts on other items. The merchandise that she voided she still gave to the customers, who she later admitted were family and friends.

The four transactions amounted to a total of $1,402.08 in voided merchandise. In addition she provided discounts worth $827.72, according to the complaint.

Kohl’s loss prevention reported the thefts to Eagan police on Dec. 23. Officers arrived and spoke with Gonzalez, who admitted to the thefts.
