Minneapolis Man Faces Charges After Biting Incident
Eagan police say Levi Deron Randolph assaulted another man at an apartment in Eagan after an argument over missing Playstation games.
An argument over missing Playstation 2 games ended with a discharged fire extinguisher and assault charges, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Dakota County Attorney's office.
Eagan police say Levi Deron Randolph, 42, bit off the top of a man's index finger during a confrontation over the missing games on Jan. 18. For his role in the alleged assault Randolph, of Minneapolis, faces one count of felony second-degree assault and one count of felony third-degree assault. The second-degree assault charge carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison and a $14,000 fine.
Police say the argument began when the victim confronted his wife at their Wescott Square apartment. Randolph became involved in the argument and the fight escalated when Randolph and the victim—a male relative—allegedly got into a shoving match. When the victim put his hand on Randolph's face, Randolph allegedly bit the victim's index finger, causing the man to bleed "heavily," police said.

The two continued to fight until Randolph walked into the kitchen and retrieved a knife from a drawer, police said. Randolph approached the victim with the knife, and the victim sprayed him with a fire extinguisher in an apparent act of self defense, according to the criminal complaint, which was filed on Jan. 20.
Randolph later told police that he wasn't in possession of a knife.
