A Minneapolis man accused of raping a 5-year-old girl in 2008 has pleaded guilty to one felony count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Dennis Michael Roy, 44, could face a maximum of 30 years in prison and $40,000 in fines. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 22.
Police say Roy assaulted the girl repeatedly at her former home in Eagan. The girl's mother contacted Dakota County Social Services about the alleged abuse in 2011. Roy, who was arrested in Feb. 2012, pleaded guilty to the charge on Jan. 22, 2013, according to Minnesota court records.
Roy has a lengthy criminal history, including two convictions for domestic assault, three convictions for disorderly conduct and a second-degree burglary conviction.
