One Injured in Accident Involving Bicycle on Cliff Road

The bicyclist was transported to Regions Hospital with leg injuries, according to a police spokesperson.

At least one person was injured following a traffic accident involving a bicyclist along Cliff Road in Eagan on Wednesday evening.

Eagan police, fire and EMT units responded to the accident, which occurred just after 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Cliff Road and Cliff Drive in southern Eagan.

Police say the bicyclist was riding against traffic along the shoulder of Cliff Road when the individual either struck or was struck by an SUV turning off of Cliff Drive. The bicyclist was transported to Regions Hospital with a broken leg, according to Eagan Police Department Lt. Duane Pike.

Police have not yet released the identities of the bicyclist or the driver of the vehicle, Pike said. The accident did not lead to significant traffic delays, Pike said.
