Pedestrian Struck and Injured While Crossing Pilot Knob Road in Eagan

The 67-year-old man suffered a broken leg and was transported to a nearby hospital. A 70-year-old woman was cited following the accident.

A 67-year-old Eagan man was hospitalized with a broken leg after he was struck by a vehicle on Friday while in a crosswalk at the intersection of Pilot Knob Road and Wilderness Run Road.

George Johnson was listed in stable condition at Regions Hospital in St. Paul following the accident, which took place around 2:15 p.m. in Eagan. Eagan Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Wills said Johnson was crossing Pilot Knob when he was hit by a Toyota Camry traveling north on the street.

The driver, a 70-year-old Eagan woman, was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian—a misdemeanor offense, Wills said.

The speed limit is 45 mph along that stretch of road, Wills said.
