Police Arrest 1 of 2 Suspects in Electronics Thefts

Terrance Wayne Morgan was arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him with stealing electronics from stores in Eagan, Burnsville and Apple Valley.

A St. Paul man being sought for shoplifting electronic items from stores in Eagan, Burnsville and Apple Valley was arrested Thursday in St. Paul.

Terrance Wayne Morgan, 23, faces two felony charges: which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine, and possession of shoplifting tools, which has a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $5,000 fine. 

Arrest warrants were issued earlier this month for Morgan and Rocky Jon Fort, 23, of St. Paul.

The two are accused of using wire cutters to cut locking pegs on hands-free headsets and stealing web cameras, wireless adapters, hard drives and watches from the stores in early January.

Morgan was also being sought by authorities in Hennepin and Steele counties for separate charges of theft. He is scheduled to make a first appearance on the Dakota County charges Friday in Dakota County District Court in Hastings.
