Police say an extra-marital relationship that started online turned sour when a Hopkins woman with compromising pictures of an Eagan man began extorting him for cash.

Lakeyia Shanee Johnson, 32, faces one felony count of coercion and one felony count of attempted coercion after police say she extorted more than $11,000 from a married Eagan man following three sexual encounters between the two.

Johnson and the victim allegedly met using adult-oriented phone line Live Links in 2010. During several subsequent sexual encounters, Johnson allegedly took risqué photos of the victim, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Dakota County Attorney's office.

Last December, police say Johnson began demanding cash from the victim, and threatened to hand the incriminating photos to his wife. The victim told police that Johnson at one point drove to his home and left an item on his front doorstep—allegedly to demonstrate that she knew where he lived.

In a six month period, the victim told police that he had paid $11,600 to Johnson to keep her quiet. The victim allegedly gave police 20 minutes of voicemail messages from Johnson and more than 15 text messages in which Johnson threatened to expose the victim if he did not pay her.

On May 25, police made a controlled phone call to Johnson with the help of the victim. In the call, Johnson was heard asking for $1,500 in cash to be delivered to her home. Police went with the victim to Johnson's residence, where they witnessed the exchange of money.

After Johnson was arrested, she allegedly admitted knowing the victim and engaging in sexual relations with him. Police say Johnson claimed that the victim was her "sugar daddy" and denied making threats toward the victim.

If convicted on the coercion charge, Johnson could face a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. Johnson's next court date is June 19.
