Suspect in Fitness Club Assault Arrested in Hennepin County

Chavas Corleon Eggleston is accused of punching a man in the face during a basketball game at Lifetime Fitness in Eagan.

A Minneapolis man being sought on at an Eagan fitness club in May was arrested Friday. 

Chavas Corleon Eggleston, 32, is charged with felony third-degree assault, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The victim told police that Eggleston punched him in the face during a 5-on-5 basketball game at Lifetime Fitness in Eagan. Several witnesses backed up the story, and Lifetime Fitness employees provided a video of the assault to police.

The victim suffered a nasal bone fracture in the assault, according to the criminal complaint.

A warrant for Eggleston’s arrest was issued earlier this month when he failed to show up for a scheduled court appearance.

He was arrested Friday in Hennepin County and was released on bond. One of the conditions of his release was that he stay away from all Lifetime Fitness locations.
