Teens Get Stuck Driving Down Railroad Tracks: Eagan Police Blotter

In other reports, a man tells police "I think he might be dead" and multiple mailboxes were damaged.

Nov. 7

7:17 p.m. - Police checked on the welfare of a man found lying on the ground on Cliff Road and I-35 E. He was intoxicated and had difficulty standing. The man fell on the sidewalk and had a large bump on his right eye and forehead. He appeared too injured for detox and transported to the hospital.

8:37 p.m. - Police received a call of a suspicious truck parked on the 4100 block of Lexington Avenue. The caller said that the truck had parked in the area several times and thought that the people in the truck were doing drugs. Police found three people in the truck “getting ready to smoke weed.” The individuals were cited and one was released to his dad.

11:46 p.m. - A man was tasered on Safari Heights Trail and Safari Pass after resisting arrest. He was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing the legal process.

Nov. 8

11:42 a.m. - An iPad theft was reported at Jensens Supper Club. The iPad was taken during dinner, and it was the third such theft in the last couple months.

2:15 p.m. - Two teenagers drove a Honda down the railroad tracks at the Seneca Water Treatment Plant. The vehicle then became stuck on the tracks. Union Pacific stopped the trains and requested a call back when the vehicle was clear of the tracks. The teens were cited for trespassing and careless driving.

5:26 p.m. - A white Lexus was seen driving on the grass at Blackhawk Park, ripping up the grass in the process.

10:20 p.m. - A resident on the 4700 block of Walden reported seeing six to eight juveniles wearing black hoodies smashing pumpkins. They possibly entered a vehicle and another neighbor reported that $160 shoes were missing. Police checked the area and did not find anyone.

10:44 p.m. - A motorcycle was stolen from the 4300 block of Robert Trail South.

Nov. 9

12:21 a.m. - Police received a call that a man was hunched over in his vehicle and wasn’t moving. The vehicle was at the stoplight on the I-35E northbound off ramp at Pilot Knob Road. The caller said that he had driven by a few times and the man had not moved. “I think he might be dead,” he told police. Medics were called and police responded. The man was alive and cited for DUI and driving with an expired driver’s license.

10:44 a.m. - Someone broke out the front passenger window of a vehicle in the Kohl’s parking lot and stole cloth grocery bags.

9:26 p.m. - Witnesses flagged down an officer and said a BMW that had just left MGM Liquors smelled of alcohol. Police stopped the vehicle, which did not have a license plate. The driver smelled strongly of alcohol and admitted to being an alcoholic. The driver was jailed for second-degree DUI.  

11:08 p.m. - Police issued citations to 15-20 juveniles for minor consumption of alcohol. Parents were not home at the time of the incident, but gave police permission to enter the residence. The incident occurred on the 600 block of Lexie Court.

Nov. 10

7:10 a.m. - Mailboxes were found tampered with on the 3800 block of Mersey Way and the 500 block of Coventry.

9:35 a.m. - Two mailboxes on the 3800 block of Riverton Avenue were damaged.

1:00 p.m. - A woman called police because someone was ramming her friend’s SUV with his SUV while her friend was still in the vehicle. Someone in the SUV that was ramming the other vehicle was arrested for third-degree DUI and an open container violation.
