Firefighters from four Eagan Fire Department stations responded to a two-alarm fire at Gopher Resources in Eagan at 4:47 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Eagan Fire Chief Mike Scott said a front end loader inside the company's production building caught fire. As the fire grew, it threatened the building itself; when fire crews arrived, the ceiling above the front end loader was also beginning to burn.
Firefighters from Eagan Fire Stations Two and Four originally responded to Gopher Resources. Because Gopher Resources is a lead recycling facility, the call was upgraded to a two-alarm fire, which brought in fire crews from Eagan Fire Stations One and Three, Scott said.
Crews were able to contain the fire without incident, and left the facility at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, Scott said.
