Woman Pulled From Flooded Car After Heavy Rain Hits Southern MN

A woman driving northwest of the Twin Cities on her way home to Anoka was pulled to safety after her car was caught in the flooding road, according to CBS Minnesota.

Julisa Jones said she went too fast to avoid getting caught in the water.

“The ditch, it looked like an ocean wave, and then it was just flooded fields," she told CBS." The water in my car was rising very quickly and I could feel the current was so strong that it was, it kept slowly pushing my car toward the ditch. I thought I was going to die."

Minnesota State Trooper Brian Beuning was able to pull her through the rear window just seconds before the car went under.

Heavy rain hit the state Tuesday night and could continue throughout Wednesday and into Thursday morning, according to CBS. Stay tuned on the latest weather updates from the National Weather Service here
