Women Busted for Shoplifting Kohl's Items Worth Thousands

The women were arrested after a loss prevention supervisor at the Kohl's in Eagan saw them leave the store with purses full of merchandise.

Three Minneapolis women are accused of shoplifting thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from the Kohl's in Eagan.

Christina Dominique Banks, 21 and Uneka Lechelle Ballard, 25, were each charged with felony theft in the case. Tarshekia Quanice Jones, 24, was charged with felony theft and fleeing police on foot, a misdemeanor.

Eagan police responded to Kohl's upon receiving a report that three women were in the process of shoplifting, according to the complaint.

A Kohl's loss prevention supervisor saw Banks, Ballard and Jones checking merchandise for electronic article surveillance tags and grabbing jeans without regard to size or price.

Eagan police officers remained nearby as the loss prevention supervisor continued to watch the women on closed circuit television, according to the complaint. The women then went into the men's fitting room with "full shopping carts" and then left the area with "purses stuffed full of merchandise."

When they left the store without paying, the supervisor followed them and noted the car make, model and license plate. Eagan police parked behind the vehicle, at which point Jones fled the vehicle on foot. Police say that another officer entered the parking lot in a squad car and cut her off. Jones was arrested, along with the other two women.

According to the complaint, they each admitted to stealing the items. Kohl's personnel took inventory of the 95 stolen items and said that the combined value was $3,032.00. Police also found additional merchandise in the car that appeared to be stolen.

If convicted on the theft charges, Ballard, Banks and Jones each face up to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
