Capitol Review: Sen. Daley's Charitable Organizations Bill Presented to Gov. Dayton

Here’s what’s happened this past week with bills authored or co-authored by local legislators:

State Sen. Ted Daley (R-District 38) of Eagan and Burnsville

  • A bill (SF1319) Daley authored on veterans homes work therapy programs had its first reading on April 27 and second reading May 12. The finance department is planning to pass as amended.
  • A bill (HF0786) Daley authored on making modifications to charitable organizations financial statements and creating compensation information reporting requirements was passed by the Minnesota House and Senate. It was presented Gov. Mark Dayton on Monday, May 16.

State. Rep. Diane Anderson (R-District 38A) of Eagan

  • A bill (HF1359) Anderson co-authored on controlled substance schedules, and electronic prescribing of controlled substances allowed had its second reading on May 2 and a new co-author (Rep. Greiling) was added to the bill May 12.

State. Rep. Doug Wardlow (R-District 38B) of Eagan

  • A bill (SF0137) Wardlow authored on deeds, residential purchase agreements and redemption periods on foreclosures passed on its third reading in the Senate in March; the bill was placed in the Calendar for the Day agenda May 13.
