In addition, Juli Seydell Johnson, director of parks and recreation, honored Friends of the Farm volunteers at Tuesday's City Council meeting.

She acknowledged them by saying they "not only keep our grounds looking nice but make all of our events possible."

Four volunteers were recognized for reaching volunteer-hour milestones at Holz Farm:

  • Bob Lane - 250 hours
  • Joel Klein - 500 hours
  • Norm Peterson - 1000 hours
  • Don Holz - 2000 hours

In other business, the council voted to cancel proposed street improvements and a traffic signal on Denmark Avenue near Byerly's until further research can be completed to respond to questions from neighboring businesses.

Dakota County also will wait to complete planned work along Yankee Doodle Road until a new project can be brought forward by the city. This will allow both the county and Eagan to secure more favorable construction bids by combining the two projects.

Maguire commended Tom Colbert, director of public works, and Russ Matthys, city engineer, for "both the way you reached out and tried to engage involved [businesses] on this and on your responsiveness to their concerns."
