Council Preview: Off-Sale Liquor Store Hours Up for Discussion

Eagan City Council members are expected to discuss an extension to the hours of operation for off-sale liquor establishments at a special council meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday night at .

Many neighboring cities have recently changed their ordinances to allow off-sale liqour stores to stay open until 10 p.m. on Monday through Thursday—the latest time permitted by state laws. However, Eagan City Code still requires that stores close at 8 p.m. on those days, according to City Clerk Christina Scippioni.

The council is expected to discuss extending the permitted closing time to 10 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and may hear testimony from liquor store owners in the city, Scippioni said.
