  • last month, the debate over the proposed redevelopment of is expected to make its first appearance in front of the Eagan City Council on Tuesday evening. Local residents are stridently opposed to developer Hunter Emerson's plans to convert Parkview—an 18-hole executive course in southern Eagan—into a 175-unit residential development. The planning commission recommended denial of the developer's preliminary plans, but Hunter Emerson has had time to make revisions to its proposal. Before the company can move forward, however, the council must decide whether to ask the Metropolitan Council for a change in the land use designation for the 80-acre golf course property. The land is currently designated private recreation, but would need to be converted to low density residential to fit Hunter Emerson's plans. If the Met Council approves the amendment request, the Eagan council will still have to vote whether to make the land use change.
  • The Eagan City Council will likely receive the city's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for 2011. The report and audit was conducted by Kern, DeWenter, Viere, Ltd., which gave the city an unqualified or "clean" opinion.
