The Eagan City Council will convene at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday night at City Hall to hold a regular council meeting. Here's a preview of a selection of agenda items the council is expected to discuss. For a full agenda, click here.

  • The manager of Ballantrae Apartments at 3800 Ballantrae Rd. wants to remove parking restrictions along the north side of Gold Trail, from the intersection of Dolomite Trail to a location 650 feet west. Parking is currently prohibited in this area from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.—a prohibition that has been in place for 25 years. The council is expected to vote whether to schedule a public hearing on Oct. 16 regarding the issue.
  • The Eagan Citizen's Crime Prevention Association donated $3,250 to the Eagan Police Department to allow two police officers to accompany eight of the department's Police Explorers to a competition in Fort Collins, Colo. in July. The council is expected to vote whether to accept the donated money during the meeting on Sept. 19.
  • Before the construction of a proposed outlet mall can begin in Eagan's Cedar Grove area, Xcel Energy would have to relocate a gas pipeline running underneath the property. On Tuesday, the Eagan City Council is expected to vote whether to ratify an agreement with Xcel to perform an engineering study regarding the relocation of the 26-inch gas pipeline.
  • The gas pipeline isn't the only piece of infrastructure in the Cedar Grove area that would have to be relocated in advance of Paragon Outlets' proposed outlet mall. The Eagan City Council will likely vote whether to authroize the preparation of plans for the grading of Cedar Grove Boulevard. The grading project would be conducted in anticipation of an eventual realignment of the road and other utilities to make room for the proposed mall.
