Eagan Council Will Meet to Discuss City Administrator Transition Plans

The council will convene at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in a special council retreat.

Roughly one week after selecting Dave Osberg to replace outgoing Eagan City Administrator Tom Hedges, the Eagan City Council will meet to discuss transition planning.

The council will convene at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday for a special council retreat at the Moonshine Park Retreat Center. Transition planning is the only topic on the agenda.

Last Wednesday, city officials announced they were handing the reins over to Osberg, the current Hastings city administrator. Osberg was chosen out of a pool of four finalists for the Eagan position.

Osberg will only be the second person to serve in the role of Eagan City Administrator. His predecessor, Hedges, was hired in 1976 at the age of 27 and has served for 36 years as the city's highest appointed official. Hedges made headlines late last year when he announced that he planned to retire in February 2013.
