Eagan's 2013 State of the City Address Scheduled for March 21

Eagan Mayor Mike Maguire plans to pose several strategic questions to Eagan residents at the annual address.

This year's "State of the City" address will be a break from the norm, according to Eagan city officials.

In previous years, Eagan Mayor Mike Maguire has used the annual address to reflect on the city's priorities and accomplishments. But this year, with a new city administrator about to take the helm, Maguire wants to pose some strategic questions to Eagan residents.

The 2013 State of the City address will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, with a 30-minute meet-and-greet starting at 7:30 a.m. The public is welcome to attend the event at the Eagan Community Center, view it live on E-TV Channel 16 or via streaming video on the city's website, according to a news release issued by the city.

Maguire plans to ask Eagan residents what new directions or initiatives they'd like to see the city embark upon over the next 10 years, according to a news release. The mayor also plans to focus on the city's future economic needs, and how the city can position itself to be a thriving leader in a "knowledge and talent economy," the news release said.
