Public Policy Polling conducted the poll for the House Majority PAC, a group working to put Democrats in the U.S. House. The poll has a margin of error of 3.4 percent.
In the poll of 825 potential voters conducted from Oct. 21-22, 42 percent said they would vote for Obermueller "if the election for Congress were held today" and 38 percent said they would vote for Kline. Twenty percent said that they were unsure.
When asked about their view of Kline, 32 percent had a favorable view and 42 percent had an unfavorable view. The other 26 percent were unsure.
“Voters in this district have seen the real John Kline in action over the past few weeks," said Mike Obermueller in a news release. "Congressman Kline is part of the so-called leadership in Congress that took us into an irresponsible government shutdown and to the brink of economic disaster just to deny people healthcare."
