Public Hearing Tonight on Proposed 2.6 Percent Utility Rate Hike

Eagan's city council will also discuss legislative priorities for 2013.

Want to give your input on the proposed 2013 fee schedule for the city of Eagan?

You’ll have a chance during a public hearing tonight at the council meeting, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at Eagan City Hall.

Under the proposed fee schedule, monthly utilities—including water, sanitary sewer, street lighting and storm drainage—will increase $.95 a month, or 2.6 percent, for a typical household.

Also at the council meeting tonight, the Economic Development Authority is expected to approve the settlement agreement for the acquisition of the former Larson Automotive property at 3955 Cedarview Drive.

The city of Eagan will present its 2013 legislative priorities, which include opposition to state-imposed levy limits and property tax freezes; a request for the extension of tax increment financing for office, retail and housing projects; and support for legislation that would minimize the negative effects of foreclosures on Eagan neighborhoods.
